Mastering Zoh Shia Farming in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Forbidden Lands in Monster Hunter Wilds are teeming with thrilling combat challenges that put players’ skills to the test. However, locating specific monsters and understanding the quests associated with them can sometimes be an added layer of complexity.

One notable example is Zoh Shia, the ultimate boss in the game’s narrative. Recently, an option to face Zoh Shia at High Rank was introduced, providing players with the opportunity to earn exceptional rewards. To access this challenging encounter, certain prerequisites must be met, which may not be immediately apparent. If you’re eager to embark on numerous Zoh Shia hunts, this comprehensive guide will help you unlock Zoh Shia investigations and maximize your hunting experience.

Steps to Unlock Zoh Shia Investigation

To initiate the High Rank Zoh Shia quest, ensure your hunter is at least HR 50. At this stage, you will unlock a quest titled A First Cry during Chapter 6 of the storyline. Completing this quest will allow you to engage Zoh Shia in battle for the first time, granting you access to valuable materials that can be used to craft stunning Zoh Shia weapons and armor for both you and your Palico.

It’s important to note that Zoh Shia, similar to Jin Dahaad found in the Iceshard Cliffs, has specific spawning conditions. While these conditions can occur naturally as you partake in other in-game activities, the chances may be less than favorable. If your goal is to hunt Zoh Shia without delay, you will need to manipulate its spawn. To achieve this, return to your tent (ideally at a base camp) and select the ‘Rest’ option.

Interestingly, Zoh Shia’s spawn rates are not influenced by the time of day. Although some players speculate that it may be more prevalent during nighttime, it has been recorded in the morning as well. The spawn rate is predominantly impacted by the current weather and environmental conditions.

For optimal spawn chances, choose the ‘Inclemency’ setting when resting. Though you may not see results immediately, this method is your best bet, regardless of whether it is day or night. With a few attempts, Zoh Shia should spawn; however, be aware that each rest incurs a significant cost of 500 Guild Points.

Once Zoh Shia is successfully spawned, locating it is your next task. Unlike other monsters that can wander freely, Zoh Shia is confined to a unique arena at the base of the Ruins of Wyveria, near the Dragontorch. Gaining access to this encounter requires you to unlock an Investigation for Zoh Shia through your world map, as illustrated above.

When you notice the prompt indicating Zoh Shia’s appearance on the right-hand menu, you will have the option to initiate an Investigation for this monster. Selecting this option adds Zoh Shia to your Field Survey History.

Afterward, return to your tent and navigate to that menu. Locate Zoh Shia among the options; unlocking the Investigation will cost you 400 Guild Points. Once this requirement is met, you can select it as your quest and will be automatically transported to Zoh Shia’s arena upon departure. Ensure you come prepared, as Zoh Shia poses a significant challenge this time around.

After you unlock and “purchase”the Zoh Shia investigation through your Field Survey History for the first time, this investigation will remain available at all times. Even if Zoh Shia leaves the area, you can continue to engage with the monster at your leisure by queuing for the investigation as a quest of your choice.

This allows for consistent farming opportunities, enabling you to gather the necessary materials as frequently as required. Be sure to stockpile supplies and prepare nourishing meals before taking on the formidable Zoh Shia.
