On April 10, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho stirred the pot with a video asserting that actress Kim Sae-ron had a romantic relationship with South Korean singer WOODZ from early 2021 to May 2022. The YouTuber indicated that their connection was marked by mutual interactions on social media, where the couple was frequently seen liking each other’s Instagram posts. Notably, Lee Jin-ho also claimed that Kim Sae-ron anonymously sent a coffee truck to support WOODZ during a music video shoot. Despite these assertions, there has been no formal confirmation or solid evidence to substantiate the relationship claims.
As rumors regarding Kim Sae-ron and WOODZ’s relationship circulated online, many netizens revisited previous speculations surrounding Kim Sae-ron’s alleged romantic involvement with actor Kim Soo-hyun. Reports suggested that the two were together from 2015 to 2021, prompting discussions about the nature of their relationship.
Given the recent rumors, fans eagerly await a definitive response regarding Kim Sae-ron’s relationship status with WOODZ. In response, the artist’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, issued a statement on April 12 to Daily Sports saying:
“The dating rumors with the late Kim Sae-ron are a part of the artist’s private life, so it is difficult to confirm. We ask for your understanding.”
Exploring Kim Sae-ron’s Alleged Relationship with Kim Soo-hyun
A report released by Garo Sero Research Institute on March 11 claimed that Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun were in a relationship for six years. The report suggested that the two dated from 2015, when Sae-ron was just 15 years old, until 2021 when Soo-hyun was 27, raising concerns of possible grooming.
This report not only incited allegations against Kim Soo-hyun but also suggested that he and his agency bore some responsibility for Kim Sae-ron’s tragic passing. It was revealed that Kim Sae-ron had been affiliated with Gold Medalist, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, which reportedly supported her financially after a DUI incident in 2022, shouldering compensation costs amounting to 700 million KRW. Although she ultimately departed from the agency, she initially agreed to repay this sum over time.
By 2024, Gold Medalist reportedly demanded the repayment in a formal notice, prompting Kim Sae-ron to seek guidance from Kim Soo-hyun as she faced financial precariousness. Unfortunately, it seems she received no response. As financial pressures mounted, Kim Sae-ron tragically took her own life on February 16, 2025, coincidentally on the birthday of Kim Soo-hyun.
In response to the allegations presented by Garo Sero Research Institute, Gold Medalist issued a rebuttal, reinforcing that while the two had indeed dated, it was only after Kim Sae-ron reached adulthood. The agency further clarified that they never pressured her regarding repayment and distanced Kim Soo-hyun from any personal involvement in the financial matters related to Kim Sae-ron’s debts. Despite these denials, Garo Sero Research Institute continues to publish purported evidence, including photos and videos, that they argue support the alleged relationship.
