Eva Mendes Celebrates Ryan Gosling’s Support for Best Stunt Design Oscar Campaign

Eva Mendes Celebrates Ryan Gosling’s Advocacy for Stunt Recognition at the Oscars

Eva Mendes recently voiced her admiration for her husband, Ryan Gosling, following a significant announcement from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences: a new award for stunt design will be introduced starting in 2028.

This initiative was propelled by director David Leitch, known for his work on The Fall Guy, in collaboration with talented stunt coordinator Chris O’Hara. The introduction of this category marks a monumental recognition of the entertainment industry’s often overlooked stunt professionals.

On Instagram, Mendes expressed her pride in Gosling’s efforts, stating: “My man is the F best! Unfortunately, success is almost only measured by box office. So I’m extra proud of my man for turning his entire Fall Guy press tour into a campaign to get stunts recognized by the Oscars. And now after almost 100 years of stunt design not being acknowledged by the Academy, it’s officially a category! This is a HUGE success! And an achievement that will last. Congratulations to the incredible stunt community!”

In her post, Mendes also included images of Gosling, Leitch, and Seth Phillip—the creative mind behind the popular dudewithsign social media account—holding a sign that read, “Give stunts an Oscar.” This shows a continuation of their collaboration, as Gosling had previously made headlines in April while promoting The Fall Guy alongside Phillip, showcasing another sign that read, “Filling In As Dudewithsign’s Stunt Double.”

Concluding her heartfelt message, Mendes jokingly noted, “BTW, this is the last time I post a pic of my man and the total babe that is Emily Blunt. No más!”

The couple crossed paths while filming The Place Beyond the Pines in 2012. Although Mendes has taken a break from Hollywood to focus on raising their daughters and pursuing other ventures, she remains a steadfast supporter of Gosling’s career. Last year, she lauded his memorable performance of “I’m Just Ken” at the 2024 Oscars, as well as his appearance in a comedic sketch on Saturday Night Live.
