Exciting Developments in The Valley Season Two
The Valley, which debuted last year as a spin-off of Vanderpump Rules, continues to capture attention as it showcases the suburban lives of reality stars Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Kristen Doute. With the original series now concluded and a reboot featuring a new cast in development, Season Two of The Valley has the opportunity to stand on its own.
Potential Cast Crossovers
Fans have speculated about the possibility of a crossover between the two shows’ casts. Lala Kent, Tom Schwartz, Scheana Shay, and Brock Davies are making guest appearances in the upcoming season. However, the idea of a more permanent merger is met with diverse opinions from the cast.
Jax Taylor’s Desire for Collaboration
Jax Taylor, previously a key figure on Vanderpump Rules before his departure in 2020, expressed his desire for a few of his old castmates to join The Valley permanently. He particularly hopes that Schwartz can become a more central figure on the show, citing their friendship as a primary reason.
“Obviously he’s my best friend so of course I want my best friend on the show with me,” he remarked in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ll do whatever I can to get him over here. He fits right in with everybody. Tom and I are the only ones that are single, so now it’s like I need another single guy on the show.”
Support from Co-Stars
Janet Caperna and Michelle Saniei have expressed favorable opinions about having Kent and Shay on The Valley as they share strong off-screen friendships and similar family dynamics. Caperna’s husband, Jason, noted their presence could benefit the dynamic of the group.
“Without them, we’re all hanging out and it’s like, ‘You guys have to go away for a while until cameras are down then come back,’ so we may as well just keep them around.”
Mixed Reactions to Vanderpump Integration
Not everyone is keen about merging the veteran cast into their new environment. Danny Booko voiced concerns about adding more personalities, stating, “I don’t know how far you can go with it. We already have a very big group and I think we definitely hold our own.” He believes a small addition of cast members is acceptable but prefers minimal changes.
Jasmine Goode echoed similar sentiments, asserting that their established cast is robust enough without an influx from Vanderpump Rules. However, she admitted that Scheana could be a viable addition due to her connection with the group.
Significant Life Changes Among Cast Members
This season brings notable developments, including Doute’s engagement to Luke Broderick, while Taylor and Cartwright, along with Saniei and Jesse Lally, navigate challenging splits. Additionally, Taylor has been open about his struggles with addiction, having completed rehab at the end of last year.
“That’s why you know this show is very real. The last thing in the entire world is what I want you guys to see these next two weeks,” Taylor commented regarding the beginning of Season Two. “I’m utterly, utterly ashamed of the person that I was a year ago; keep in mind it was a year ago, things have changed.”
For Cartwright, the new season poses personal challenges, but she feels she has emerged stronger from the past struggles. “Going into season two was extremely hard because obviously a lot was going on between Jax and I. But compared to now I feel like I’m in such a better place,” she says.
Expectations for Season Two
Booko described the season’s tone, revealing, “There was some of that, with Luke and Kristen’s engagement, but other than that it was quite chaotic. It was a dumpster fire, let’s just be honest.” This juxtaposition of joy and turmoil suggests that viewers are in for a season filled with highs and lows, making for compelling television.
