April Event to Introduce Generation 8 Pokémon in Pokémon GO

Event Overview

  • During the Sweet Discoveries event, Pokémon GO will introduce Applin and its evolutionary stages.
  • Participants will enjoy bonuses such as an increased likelihood of catching shiny Pokémon and double candy rewards for successful catches.
  • Applin can evolve into either Flapple or Appletun using required candy and apples during the event period.

Pokémon GO has confirmed the launch of the Applin evolutionary line starting April 24, coinciding with its Sweet Discoveries event. The game consistently adds creatures from various generations, including eight Pokémon from the Galar region, enhancing the player experience with over 40 newly introduced Pokémon.

Since the introduction of Galarian Wheezing in November 2019, which celebrated the launch of Pokémon Sword and Shield, several other Galar Pokémon have been added. Notable additions include Sirfetch’d and Ponyta, introduced in October 2019, alongside Galarian Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres making their debut in July 2022. More recently, Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble joined the roster in September 2024. With the upcoming event, Pokémon GO players can look forward to interacting with another Pokémon from the Galar region.
