Black Mirror Season 7: YouTuber Cameos Add New Dimension
Netflix’s acclaimed anthology series, Black Mirror, has made its much-anticipated return with Season 7. This season continues the show’s tradition of exploring unique narratives where each episode is distinct yet connected through provocative sci-fi themes. One of the standout episodes is titled USS Callister: Into Infinity, which features exciting cameos from two prominent UK YouTubers.
Spotlight on YouTube Stars: TommyInnit and DanTDM
The episode features brief appearances by Thomas “TommyInnit” and Daniel “DanTDM”, renowned Minecraft content creators with 15.1 million and 29.2 million subscribers, respectively. They appear at the one-hour and nine-minute mark, donning sci-fi suits in an interstellar showdown aboard the USS Callister, although they have no speaking lines.
This marks a notable first for Black Mirror, as the series hadn’t previously included cameos from YouTubers. TommyInnit and DanTDM’s characters engage in a virtual space battle against the ship’s crew, who are depicted as rogue elements in an MMO-style environment.

Continuity in the Black Mirror Universe
USS Callister: Into Infinity serves as a direct sequel to the original USS Callister episode, which was part of Season 4 and aired on December 29, 2017. The new episode brings back familiar faces from the previous installment, including Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, Michaela Coel, Billy Magnussen, and Paul G. Raymond, enhancing the continuity of the storyline.
Previous Cameos of DanTDM
This is not DanTDM’s first venture into onscreen appearances. Earlier this year, he had a fleeting cameo in the A Minecraft Movie, which debuted on April 4, 2025, featuring an impressive cast including Jack Black and Jason Momoa. In a similar vein to his role in Black Mirror, DanTDM had no dialogue.
Additionally, DanTDM appeared in the 2021 film Free Guy, sharing the screen with other well-known gaming personalities such as Sean “Jacksepticeye,”Tyler “Ninja,”and Imane “Pokimane,”each in minor speaking roles. This underscores the increasing intersection of traditional media and digital content creators.
As Black Mirror evolves, its inclusion of YouTube personalities reflects a broader trend in the entertainment industry, bridging the gap between traditional storytelling and the digital sphere. Explore how these integrations can reshape narratives in future productions!
