If you’re not particularly keen on the idea of living ships or consider yourself a devoted collector of spacecraft in No Man’s Sky, you might want to explore the intriguing world of Sentinel Interceptors. These vessels share similarities with the Sentinels you encounter during your travels, offering a variety of colors and styles that can enhance your starship fleet.
There are two primary methods to acquire a Sentinel Interceptor: the first involves utilizing an Echo Locator to locate a Harmonic settlement, while the second requires you to defeat a Sentinel Capital Ship. Both approaches can require a good deal of time, so let’s dive into the essential steps for obtaining a Sentinel Interceptor in No Man’s Sky.
Acquiring a Sentinel Interceptor Using an Echo Locator
Step 1: Locate a Dissonant Planet

The hunt for Sentinel Interceptors begins on Dissonant planets, where they can be found resembling traditional crashed ships. Access the Galaxy Map, identify a system labeled as Dissonant, and warp there. Remember, only one planet in each system features Dissonance, so use your ship’s scanner to locate a planet with “Dissonance detected”indicated in its description.
Step 2: Acquire an Echo Locator

Next, to find a crashed Sentinel Interceptor, you’ll need to explore a Harmonic settlement by using an Echo Locator. These Echo Locators can be obtained from Dissonance Resonators, which are tall structures often guarded by a swarm of Corrupted Sentinels. Successfully defeating a Dissonance Resonator may yield an Echo Locator or an Inverted Mirror.
Step 3: Navigate to the Harmonic Echo

Using the Echo Locator from your inventory, you can pinpoint the location of a Harmonic Echo, which serves as a hub for various activities. Here, you can discover numerous Harmonic Scrap items, including Atlantideum, Nanites, and Exosuit Expansion Units. The settlement also features a Harmonic Interface located at its rear.
Within the Harmonic Interface, you’ll encounter a puzzle that you need to solve:
- Select “Scan memory registers”to reveal three straightforward math problems.
- Calculate the answers and jot them down.
- Select “Input override glyphs”and enter the answers in any order.
Once the puzzle is resolved, you’ll be able to deactivate the Multi-Tool seal and identify the Dissonance Spikes, which lead you to the nearest crashed Sentinel Interceptor. Notably, you can choose either the Multi-Tool or the ship, returning to the Harmonic Interface later to pick the other option.
Step 4: Repair the Sentinel Interceptor

Head to the Dissonance Spike coordinates and interact with the Sentinel Interceptor. Be sure to transfer all salvage, including the Hyaline Brain, into your inventory. At this point, a quest will appear in your Log related to this specific ship.
Find the Hyaline Brain in your inventory and select “Probe Subconscious.” Jump into the starship and follow the marker to the Ancient Site. If you prefer, you can simply use the quest marker for navigation. Upon interaction with the Monolith at the site, you’ll cleanse the Hyaline Brain, converting it into a Harmonic Brain.
Be aware that some Monoliths may have issues, displaying incorrect dialogue and preventing further interaction. To mitigate this, save your game before engaging with the Monolith, or seek out an alternative crashed ship.
Once you have the Harmonic Brain, return it to the Sentinel Interceptor to repair the Pilot Interface, making the vessel ready for your collection.
Acquiring a Sentinel Interceptor by Defeating a Sentinel Capital Ship

Alternatively, you can secure a Sentinel Interceptor by defeating a Sentinel Capital Ship. Begin this process by attacking a civilian fleet, which will summon the Sentinels. Once they arrive, engage the Interceptors and eliminate all of them until wave five is reached.
Before you confront the fry, ensure that all remaining Interceptors are dispatched. The Sentinel Capital Ship, akin to a pirate Dreadnought, features shield generators (round brown structures) along with multiple turrets on either side. Your priority should be to destroy the turrets first, followed by the shield generators. Unfortunately, there are no further weak spots on the Sentinel Capital Ship, so relax, hold the fire button, and annihilate the ship.

Success in defeating the Sentinel Capital Ship rewards you with a Carrier AI Fragment, a consumable that acts similarly to an Echo Locator but provides direct guidance to a crashed Interceptor. If the ship is situated in another system, the fragment will help you locate it on the Galaxy Map, allowing you to navigate to the crash site, where you can undertake the previous repair steps.
