The current quest line, known as the Balance of Power, draws inspiration from the legendary Mortal Kombat character, Raiden. While seasoned players will recognize many objectives aligned with the Kombat Kits, they should be prepared for some unexpected challenges as well.

Execute a Full Combo with a Kombat Kit
The objective here involves two crucial steps: first, obtaining a Kombat Kit, and then executing its complete combo sequence using the primary attack button. Players can find these kits scattered throughout the map in world drops and treasure chests, but an excellent starting point is the Living Forest, located just southwest of Flooded Frogs, where they can be found on the ground at match initiation.
In Fortnite, the term “opponent”encompasses both NPCs and player characters. Once equipped with a Kombat Kit, aim at your target and continue to press the primary fire button until you successfully deliver a full combo. If the quest does not register, you may need to repeat the combo. Note that this combo differs from the “Signature Move,” executed via the alt-fire button. Sub-Zero employs an ice slide (a forward-moving attack on ice), while Scorpion uses a spear (a stationary attack that lures enemies toward him).

Land in the Living Forest at Match Start
This quest is arguably the simplest among the Balance of Power challenges. However, it is essential to know where to land. The Living Forest can be found in the northwest corner of the main map, just southwest of Flooded Frogs, marked by eerie trees adorned with faces.
To complete this quest, all that is required is to land in the Living Forest immediately after jumping from the Battle Bus. This location offers Kombat Kits that can aid you in fulfilling the subsequent quest tasks. While it may not be the most prime landing location, it serves its purpose well in completing the Balance of Power quests.
Completing Stage 3 of the Balance of Power
Eliminate Players in the Shogun’s Arena
This quest poses the highest level of difficulty in the Balance of Power series, as it requires players to wait for the Shogun’s Arena to appear and confidently eliminate other players. You can accomplish this across multiple matches, but prioritizing gear and swift eliminations will enhance your chances for success.
Similar to past events featuring locations like Loot Island, Shogun’s Arena will materialize in the center of the map following the fourth storm circle. This necessitates a waiting period, requiring you to play tactically rather than aggressively. Equip long-range weapons to target enemies across the floating islands that make up Shogun’s Arena.
Completing Stage 4 of the Balance of Power Mortal Kombat Quest
Outlast Players While Carrying a Kombat Kit
This straightforward quest requires players to survive longer than 100 competitors while possessing a Kombat Kit. Interestingly, you do not need to use the kit or eliminate enemies; it simply must remain in your inventory as you progress.
A strategic approach involves landing in the Living Forest as soon as the match commences, allowing you to benefit from early eliminations. However, since the Living Forest can quickly become crowded at the start, be prepared to either land directly in the center to seize the Kombat Kit or approach from the outskirts, equipped with weapons.
Completing Stage 5 of the Balance of Power
Execute a Kombat Kit Signature Move Within 5 Seconds of Using a Kombat Kit Ability
This task may initially seem complex, but it simply entails executing a signature move (ice slide or spear) within five seconds after using a Kombat Kit combo. In clear terms, follow up your primary fire with the secondary fire to complete the requirement. This can be performed on any opponent, including when summoning Scorpion in the Living Forest.
Sub-Zero’s signature move is beneficial for maneuvering against foes, providing an opportunity for both offensive and defensive strategies. For an effective tactic, consider landing in the Living Forest, summoning Scorpion via the portal, executing a combo, and instantly following up with a signature move. Either character’s Kombat Kit fulfills this quest.
Completing Stage 6 of the Balance of Power
Eliminate an Opponent Using Both Kombat Kits
In this final step, you must possess both the Sub-Zero and Scorpion Kombat Kits simultaneously. Although there is no strict time constraint for this quest, quick thinking is essential to successfully use both kits effectively, deal damage, and secure an elimination. Failing this may lead to having to acquire both kits again, particularly if another player intercepts your target.
The Living Forest remains the prime location for this task since both Kombat Kits are readily accessible. By summoning Scorpion, you can complete the entire series of tasks required for Fortnite’s Balance of Power questline in one go.
