Jun Hyun-moo Addresses Late-Night Drunk Livestream with BoA, Apologizes to Park Na-rae

On April 8, 2025, South Korean television personality Jun Hyun-moo publicly addressed the backlash stemming from an Instagram live stream he held with music artist BoA on April 5. Their broadcast drew heavy criticism due to both appearing intoxicated, and the way they tackled dating rumors about comedienne Park Na-rae.

In a subsequent Instagram post, Jun acknowledged the negative feedback and expressed regret over mentioning Park Na-rae without her consent. He emphasized the unfortunate nature of the comments made during the live session.

“I apologize for the delay in delivering an official statement regarding the Instagram live broadcast last Saturday. I expressed my apologies to Park Na-rae right after the broadcast, as her name was needlessly mentioned during the stream,”he stated, according to a translation by the Korea JoongAng Daily.

He went on to express further apologies:

“I’d like to once again say I’m sorry and thank Na-rae for her understanding, even in a situation that must have been unpleasant. It was clearly wrong of me to mention someone not present and to host a live broadcast while intoxicated.”

Jun Hyun-moo also reflected on his behavior, acknowledging that he had made viewers uncomfortable. He committed to being more thoughtful about the impact of his words and actions on others. This was Jun’s first public statement regarding the incident, while BoA had previously issued an apology on Weverse soon after the livestream concluded.

Understanding the BoA and Jun Hyun-moo Livestream Debacle

During the April 5 livestream, when fans observed the duo’s inebriated state, a comment surfaced about their rumored relationship with Park Na-rae. BoA quickly dismissed those claims, asserting:

“I don’t think they’re dating,” and added, “He’s too good for her,” during a moment of humor prompted during the broadcast.

Jun then inquired:

“This is being broadcast — are you okay with that?”

The on-air discussion sparked widespread criticism across social media, as many viewers deemed it inappropriate to mention a third party who wasn’t present. Following the incident, on April 7, BoA took to Weverse to address the matter.

“First of all, I apologized to Na-rae Park for mentioning and making rude remarks in the absence of the person concerned, and thank you for your understanding,” she wrote.

BoA noted she had personally reached out to Park Na-rae with her apologies and acknowledged a lapse in judgment during the live stream, affirming her intention to be more conscientious in future public appearances.

In other developments, Park Na-rae was notably absent from the April 8 episode of MBC Radio’s Son Tae-jin’s Trot Radio, as initially reported through the show’s social media channels due to “personal reasons.” Soon after, concerns were raised linking her absence to the recent livestream events.

However, it was later revealed that Park Na-rae had suffered a home invasion, which led to her withdrawal from the scheduled appearance. Initially, her agency cited health issues as the reason. They later stated:

“Park Na-rae is not feeling well, so she was unable to attend today’s broadcast of ‘Son Tae-jin’s Trot Radio’.”

Subsequent investigations into the break-in revealed that the incident occurred on April 7, with Park staying awake throughout the night due to the stress. By morning, she exhibited symptoms akin to a mild illness. This unfortunate event led to much speculation and concern from fans.
