With the upcoming movie The Brave and The Bold poised to introduce a new Batman, fan-favorite Brandon Sklenar has shared insights regarding his aspirations for the role within the revitalized DC Universe (DCU). As James Gunn embarks on a journey to reboot the DCU, numerous iconic characters, including the Dark Knight, are set for fresh interpretations on the big screen. Directed by Andy Muschietti, The Brave and The Bold is currently in development, and official casting announcements have yet to be made.
Brandon Sklenar’s Enthusiastic Response
In a recent interview with Ash Crossan from ScreenRant, Sklenar expressed his excitement about being considered by fans as a potential Batman. He reflected on how this possibility aligns with his childhood dreams, noting:
Brandon Sklenar: I mean, for Batman? [laughs] Let’s keep running with that! That’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little kid — and I’ve never even talked about it — It just started happening and I was like, “This is cool!”And now, maybe, hopefully, it happens one day.
I’d love to do it. It’s literally a childhood dream to do something like that, specifically that character. If I [were] ever to do any type of thing in the superhero space, that’s what it would be.
Potential Conversations with DC Studios
When questioned about any discussions with DC Studios regarding the Batman role, Sklenar indicated that there is some recognition of his popularity among fans for portraying the next live-action Batman. He shared:

Brandon Sklenar: Yeah. I think there’s some awareness of me on some level, probably. But yeah, I know they’re a ways away from doing that. But yeah, obviously, the little kid in me, and the adult me is, like, “This is cool!”And I have a bunch of ideas. Anyway, it’d be cool.
