Warhorse Studios has officially revealed that Hardcore Mode for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be available next week. While the exact release day remains unconfirmed, players are eager to dive into a more challenging gameplay experience that the mode promises. This development comes after the game’s successful debut, bolstered by a series of post-launch improvements and content updates that have kept the community engaged.

Following the implementation of the significant 1.2 update in March, which included numerous gameplay adjustments, bug fixes, and the introduction of a barber system for character customization, the excitement surrounding the game continues to thrive. This barber feature allows players to modify Henry’s look, including a variety of hairstyles and beard options, all while granting a temporary buff to Charisma when freshly trimmed.

Hardcore Mode for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Launching Soon

In addition to the recent enhancements from the 1.2 update, Warhorse Studios has confirmed the arrival of Hardcore Mode next week. This highly anticipated mode will be free for all players and most likely released through a patch update for both consoles and PC. Although a specific release date hasn’t been announced, players can expect the update to arrive between Monday, April 14, and Friday, April 18. Given that previous updates were released on Thursdays, it’s plausible that Hardcore Mode could be available on April 17.

Hardcore Mode introduces a significant shift in gameplay by requiring players to select three negative perk effects from a pool of ten options, each impacting their game experience, such as increasing hunger levels or reducing carry weight. These choices become permanent throughout the player’s journey. Additionally, the user interface will be significantly simplified, omitting player markers on the map and cardinal directions on the compass. This alteration aims to enhance immersion and realism, as fast travel will also be disabled, pushing players to navigate solely by their instincts.

There has been considerable anticipation from the community regarding the Hardcore Mode since the game’s release in February. Recent discoveries by some players allowed them to gain early access using console commands on PC, revealing that the necessary game files were already incorporated into the system. While utilizing this method isn’t supported, it has provided a glimpse of the engaging challenges that await players with the upcoming launch.
