The latest addition to the Black Ops 6 Zombies series, Shattered Veil, carries on a beloved tradition of intricate and entertaining side easter eggs. While it may not offer the nostalgic allure of The Tomb’s shimmering golden armor, it certainly adds a fascinating layer to gameplay. Engaging with these easter eggs is not mandatory for game progression, but the experience of unraveling the secrets within Shattered Veil is delightful and worthy of exploration.
For players eager to delve into the depths of Shattered Veil and uncover its hidden charms, this particular easter egg offers a nostalgic nod to the complex puzzles of yesteryear—possibly inspired by Jason Blundell himself. Below is a comprehensive step-by-step guide to help you embark on this adventure.
Step 1: Acquire the Vermin Statue and Place it in the Mainframe Chamber

Begin your journey by accessing the Mainframe Chamber, the location of the Pack-a-Punch. After securing entry, navigate through to the Service Tunnel and exit to the left into the Supply Depot. Inside this area, turn around to face the north wall, where you will find a small vermin underneath the third grate. Interact with it to collect the statue.

With the vermin now in your possession, return to the Mainframe Chamber and locate the metal dish tray situated opposite the capsule storing an Empty Canister (to the left of S.A.M.). Place the vermin in the tray and use any weapon to shoot the test tubes and bottles adjacent to the tray:
- The small bottle on the far right emitting blue smoke.
- The collection of test tubes on the far left releasing red smoke.
- The central bottle surrounded by both groups, producing green smoke.
Step 2: Place the Vermin in a Microwave in the Overlook

After successfully completing the first step, you will notice a glowing gas surrounding the vermin in the tray. Collect it and proceed upstairs to the Overlook area within the Grand Foyer. Here, you will find three microwaves at your disposal:
- On the west wall of the Overlook, located on a table adorned with coffee mugs.
- On the southeast wall in the West Hallways, situated next to a wooden crate.
- On the south wall in the West Hallways, beside a green desk.
Interact with one of the microwaves to insert the vermin. As you do, you will see smoke starting to billow inside. Remember to pay close attention, as your goal is to interact with the microwave as soon as red smoke becomes visible.
Step 3: Acquire the Wunderwaffe DG-2 and Place the Vermin in Blood

The next stage is arguably the most challenging, as you will need the elusive Wunderwaffe DG-2. Since this weapon cannot be crafted, obtaining it requires some luck with the Mystery Box, costing 950 essence. However, there is a way to secure a free and guaranteed DG-2 through a side easter egg.
Once you have successfully acquired the Wunderwaffe DG-2, head back to the Mainframe Chamber. On the staircase leading to the Pack-a-Punch, you will find a pool of blood on the floor. Interact with the blood to place the vermin within it, and then use the Wunderwaffe DG-2 to shoot the large metal fan located to the north of the blood pool.
Step 4: Use a Chopper Gunner to Shoot the Red Smoke Chimneys

The final step requires players to obtain a Chopper Gunner scorestreak. This can be secured at any Crafting Table for 2,500 Salvage, provided you have reached Level 45. Alternatively, players may choose to take down Elder Disciples in hopes of a drop.
Once you possess the Chopper Gunner, activate it in the Motor Court and target all chimneys emitting red smoke surrounding the mansion. Upon destroying all the chimneys, the map will transition into a fog-shrouded state. This new atmosphere will see Dark Aether crystals emerge, allowing players to collect valuable Salvage and equipment.
Be informed that this fog is temporary and will dissipate after a few minutes, along with the availability of Dark Aether crystals.
