In your journey through Path of Exile 2, specifically during Act 2, you’ll encounter the opportunity to acquire an Elemental Offering. These offerings reward you with a valuable ring, but choosing the right one can be a challenge. If you’re navigating the expansive PoE 2 maps, it’s easy to overlook this item. However, you can find the Elemental Offering tucked away in the Buried Shrines area, close to Keth.
This location is naturally part of the City of Seven Waters quest, which means you’ll likely traverse this area. Even if you initially missed the Charm, it’s advisable to revisit the Buried Shrines to select an Elemental Offering. The primary concern, then, is determining which offering will best support your character’s needs.
Exploring Elemental Offerings in Path of Exile 2
Deep within the Buried Shrines of Act 2, you’ll uncover a room that holds three vases, each linked to a specific elemental type associated with gems. Inside these vases, you will find:
- Offering of Water
- Offering of Fire
- Offering of Lightning
Each offering corresponds to a different ring type: the Sapphire Ring for Water, the Ruby Ring for Fire, and the Topaz Ring for Lightning. Each of these rings provides a baseline of 25% resistance to their respective elements: Ice, Fire, and Lightning. Although I have only observed Blue (Magic) rarity drops thus far, there’s a chance to find them at higher rarities.

If you anticipate facing powerful fire attacks from the upcoming boss, Azarian the Forsaken Son, opting for the Offering of Fire is prudent. Conversely, if your Fire Resistance is sufficiently high, you’ll want to assess where your defenses may fall short.
As you advance through the Acts and into Cruel difficulty, it’s important to note that you will incur Elemental Resistance penalties. Thus, it is wise to bolster your defenses against any weaknesses; prioritize Fire Resistance initially and, should you reach adequate levels, focus on the type you are most vulnerable to.
