Ultimately, Corey’s triumph provided him with immunity for the coming Main Heat rounds.

Judging and Bottom Results

However, not all bakers fared well. Paul and Kareem found themselves at the bottom after the judges’ critique. Paul’s steampunk-inspired clock cake struggled under the scrutiny of technical issues, including a hidden piece of cardboard in the structure, which contributed to its downfall.

Under the studio lights, the decorations became compromised, and the sponge texture ultimately failed to provide adequate support. Additionally, the fruit filling was marred by unwanted seeds, leading to a less-than-stellar presentation overall.

Kareem’s digital clock cake, while ambitious, did not meet design expectations, as the judges felt it strayed from the intended aesthetic. The inclusion of freeze-dried strawberries adversely affected the cake’s texture, resulting in a stiff final product. Realizing his errors too late, Kareem’s consecutive bottom placements justified his elimination from the competition.
