Khazan the First Berserker: Complete Guide to Unique Crafting Materials and Acquisition Methods

As you begin to navigate the loot and crafting mechanics in The First Berserker: Khazan, you’ll quickly discover that powerful gear sets demand specific crafting materials. These vital resources can be sourced through various methods during your journey in Khazan, including farming from distinct bosses. To unlock gear sets, you’ll need to find their related scrolls, which are typically hidden in diverse locations across the game world or dropped by bosses once defeated.

Upon collecting a gear set’s scroll, you can craft the corresponding equipment at Khazan’s blacksmith. However, you must first gather the required crafting materials, which can be a straightforward yet occasionally frustrating task. In my experience, The First Berserker has implemented a relatively clear system for obtaining these unique materials. Boss farming can be repetitive, especially if you’re aiming for multiple gear sets as you level up and seek better equipment.

How To Get Unique Crafting Materials In Khazan

When To Use Special Crafting Materials

Crafting Material Rewards

You may have noticed unique crafting materials like the Guardian’s Hooves or Netherworld Minerals in your inventory after taking down some challenging early bosses, such as Blade Phantom. However, these materials remain largely useless until you unlock the blacksmith, which requires progressing further in the game, specifically obtaining access to Aratra.

After unlocking the blacksmith, you will need to collect scrolls to gain access to the game’s top gear sets. Most high-tier sets necessitate unique crafting materials for completion. For instance, Guardian’s Hooves, obtained from defeating Volbaino, are required for the Fallen Guardian set.

Gear Set Example

There are multiple methods for acquiring unique crafting materials. One of the easiest ways to obtain these items is by purchasing them from Danjin, known as the jar enthusiast. Once you’ve defeated the corresponding boss, Danjin offers three of each type of unique crafting material, albeit for a price in Lacrima. This option provides a convenient shortcut to complete your gear set, especially since defeating a boss usually yields two random pieces of its respective set.

In addition to crafting materials, Danjin sells Jar Helmets, which are Epic-quality items that can substitute for the headpiece in your desired gear set, thanks to a fixed attribute that reduces set item requirements by one.

Unique crafting materials can also be found during missions, typically discovered while exploring various regions as you progress. For instance, you can find three Fallen Lord’s Claws during the “Birth of Evil”mission in Capital City Vitalon and three Blood-Soaked Stoneshards in the climactic “Master of Chaos”mission.

The main strategy for obtaining unique crafting materials involves farming specific bosses after your initial victory over them. Unique crafting materials are randomly dropped by particular bosses, often alongside random gear set pieces. As you advance in the game, this farming tactic becomes essential for obtaining higher-quality gear.

All Unique Crafting Materials & Where To Get Them

Special Materials Range From Netherworld Minerals To Princess’s Mirror

Boss Fight

Almost every main boss in The First Berserker: Khazan is linked to a unique crafting material and an associated armor set. While these crafting materials are critical for assembling top-tier gear sets, you won’t be able to complete a full set without acquiring enough of these unique items. Additionally, you can discover these materials during story missions, so keep an eye out while exploring different areas.

In total, there are 14 unique crafting materials. Depending on your chosen playstyle, not all materials may be necessary. It’s often more efficient to focus your efforts on resources linked to your primary weapon. For example, as a spear user, I prioritized hunting for Fallen Lord’s Claws early on to complete the Fallen Lord’s set and later sought Witch’s Tentacle for the Drowned Witch set, which I consider one of the top armors for spear builds in Khazan.
