New Pokemon TCG Pocket Event Introduces Five Exciting Promo Cards

Event Overview

  • The Pawmot Drop Event in Pokémon TCG Pocket features new Promo-A cards and updates to the event structure.
  • Players can win guaranteed Promo-A booster packs as “First Time”rewards across all difficulty levels.
  • Utilize Fighting-type decks to accomplish Pawmot event missions, with a focus on the Expert difficulty for optimal pack rewards.

Pokémon TCG Pocket has officially kicked off the Pawmot Drop Event, unveiling five new Promo-A cards, which include an enticing full-art version of Pawmot, the star Pokémon of the event. This April marking the sixth Drop Event in the series introduces some notable changes to the gameplay experience.

This year’s Pawmot Drop Event is scheduled to last only ten days—four days shorter than previous iterations. This reduction in duration coincides with a revised rewards system, where players will receive one TCG Pocket Promo-A booster pack as part of the “First Time”prizes for each mission. Participants are guaranteed to obtain four packs by defeating the Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert foes for the first time, in addition to the chance of acquiring more packs through random rewards.

The Pawmot Drop Event is set to conclude on April 16, 2025, at 10:59 PM PDT. Throughout this promotional event, players have the opportunity to unlock Promo-A Vol. 6 booster packs, featuring one of the five new promotional Pokémon cards: Machamp (P-A 051), Floatzel (P-A 053), Pawmot (P-A 054), Ekans (P-A 056), and Bidoof (P-A 057). Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that the controversial Mewtwo ex card (Promo-A 050) remains exclusive to paying users, while Promo-A 058 and 059 are anticipated to debut in a future Wonder Pick event.

Promo Cards and Drop Rates

  • Machamp (P-A 051) = 15.82% chance of dropping
  • Floatzel (P-A 053) = 23.84% chance of dropping
  • Pawmot (P-A 054) = 12.66% chance of dropping
  • Ekans (P-A 056) = 23.84% chance of dropping
  • Bidoof (P-A 057) = 23.84% chance of dropping

Each card within Promo-A Vol. 6 showcases unique artwork, with Ekans and Floatzel receiving significant updates, including new stats and abilities. The updated Ekans joins the Darkness archetype and has a new attack named Poison Sting, which guarantees poisoning the opponent’s Pokémon with just one Energy. Meanwhile, Floatzel now boasts 10 additional HP and a new move, Attack the Wound, which inflicts 70 damage if used against an already harmed enemy.

To maximize rewards during the Pawmot Drop Event, players should strategically deploy Fighting-type decks. Given that all event decks are themed around Pawmot, utilizing Pokémon that have a weakness to Fighting-type moves, such as TCG Pocket’s Lucario & Rampardos deck or the increasingly popular Gallade ex & Hitmonlee, can be advantageous. It’s crucial to emphasize that only the Expert difficulty guarantees a Promo-A pack drop, so players focused on collecting should prioritize this difficulty over Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced levels.
