On April 7, 2025, the highly anticipated sequel to the anime Grand Blue unveiled a fresh promotional video alongside a reveal of the ending theme song, titled Hadaka de Dotsukiai feat. May’n by SEAMO. This new season is set to debut on Japanese television on July 8, 2025.
This upcoming season marks a continuation of the beloved series that originally aired 12 episodes from July to September 2018. The anime is adapted from a comedic manga created by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka. Since its launch in April 2014, the manga has been featured in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine.
Latest Trailer Highlights Ending Theme by SEAMO
In the latest promotional trailer, watched by fans eagerly, SEAMO’s contribution to the series is showcased. The ending theme, Hadaka de Dotsukiai feat. May’n, translates to Let’s Punch Eat Other While Naked feat. May’n in English, adding a playful twist to the show. The clip also reveals that Shonan no Kaze will perform the opening theme, titled Seishun Towa (Eternal Youth) ft. Atarashii Gakko!!.
The trailer not only teases the ending theme but also introduces viewers to favorite characters such as Azusa Hamaoka and Chisa Kotegawa. Moreover, it captures the Diving Club enjoying their lively nighttime activities, reinforcing the show’s lighthearted spirit.
The series is confirmed to air every Tuesday at 12:30 AM JST, starting from July 8, 2025, on the Tokyo MX and BS11 channels, with additional broadcasting on MBS in Japan.

Under the direction of Shinji Takamatsu, who returns as the director, scriptwriter, and sound director, Grand Blue season 2 is produced through a collaboration between Zero-G and Studio Liber. Noteworthy contributors include Hideoki Kusama as chief animation director and character designer, along with Yoichi Ueda as another chief animation director. The music for the series is composed by Yukari Hashimoto, with Aiko Matsuyama handling the color key artwork.
According to the official website, the new season will pick up with Iori returning to Izu after completing his diving license training in Okinawa. He will also receive a letter from his sister, Shiori Kitahara, setting the stage for a series of new summer adventures for Iori and his friends in the Diving Club.
