In the expansive universe of Path of Exile 2, players encounter several intriguing structures as they journey through the endgame Atlas, particularly after finishing Act 6 of the campaign. Among these notable locations is the Reliquary Vault. This enigmatic site, reminiscent of both the Burning Monolith and the Realmgate, lacks detailed explanations in the game, leading to a fair amount of confusion regarding its functionality.
The official description alludes to the treasures within by stating, “Ancient Treasures Await,”yet it offers no insight into the mechanics or purpose of the vault. This article aims to clarify how the Reliquary Vault operates and its significance in the game.
Understanding the Reliquary Vault

The Reliquary Vault functions as a unique endgame map accessible only with a Reliquary Key, conveniently located near the Realmgate and Ziggurat Refuge, the initial hub for endgame players. Unlike traditional maps filled with adversaries, this locale offers a distinctive experience.
Players will not face any monsters here; instead, they will find a singular chest named the Twilight Order Chest. This chest contains a random Foiled Unique item, adding an exclusive element to the treasure hunting in Path of Exile 2.
Exploring Foiled Uniques

Within Path of Exile 2, Foiled Unique items stand out due to their distinctive glowing aesthetics, setting them apart from regular Unique items. Notably, their statistics do not differ from their non-foiled counterparts.
These special items are crafted by supporters holding the ‘Liberator of Wraeclast Supporter Pack’, allowing them to submit designs through the Twilight Order Reliquary. Not only do Foiled Uniques come with unique visual enhancements, but they also feature flavor text contributed by the original designer, enriching their narrative value.
Acquiring Reliquary Keys

The pathway to unlocking the Reliquary Vault is through Reliquary Keys, which come in two categories: Regular Twilight Reliquary Keys and Pinnacle Boss Reliquary Keys.
- Twilight Reliquary Keys: These keys can drop from any monster throughout the game, offering access to the Reliquary Vault. However, it is essential to note that chests accessed with these keys will only contain global Unique items; exclusive boss items, such as Temporalis, will not be included.
- Pinnacle Reliquary Keys: These specialized keys are obtained exclusively from defeating Pinnacle Bosses, such as Xesht, King in the Mists, or Arbiter of Ash. They have the potential to unlock Foiled Uniques, although this is not guaranteed.
In addition to in-game drops, players can also acquire Reliquary Keys via the official Path of Exile 2 trade marketplace. However, be aware that the prices can often be inflated, particularly due to high-demand items like Astramentis being available. Currently, there is no targeted farming method for obtaining Reliquary Keys outside of the general monster slaying common to the game.
