BTS Jimin Makes History as First Korean Soloist to Achieve 90 Weeks at No. 1 on Spotify Korea Artist Chart

Jimin Makes History on Spotify Korea

On April 6, 2025, BTS member Jimin etched his name in music history by becoming the first Korean solo artist to achieve an impressive 90 weeks at the No. 1 position on Spotify Korea’s Artist Chart. This unprecedented accomplishment marks a significant milestone as it is the first instance of an artist maintaining such a streak on the Weekly Top Artist chart.

Jimin’s journey to this remarkable achievement is characterized by a series of groundbreaking milestones on the Spotify Korea platform. Notably, as of December 7, 2024, he celebrated his 500th No. 1 ranking on Spotify’s Daily Top Artist chart, further solidifying his position as a dominant force in the music scene.

Chart-Topping Success and Notable Tracks

In addition to his daily accolades, this Grammy-nominated artist has dominated the Weekly Top Artist chart, securing his 73rd No. 1 ranking by early December 2024. His ascent commenced with “With You,”an original soundtrack from the popular K-drama “Our Blues,”which debuted at No. 1.

Other notable solo tracks, such as “WHO,””Be Mine,””Slow Dance”(featuring Sofia Carson), “Rebirth: Intro,”and “Interlude: Showtime,”have also made their presence felt on the chart, although not all reached the pinnacle position.

The Impact of Jimin’s Solo Work

Jimin’s solo projects have significantly contributed to his chart-topping success. His second solo album, MUSE, released on July 19, 2024, features the title track “WHO,”which debuted at No. 1 on Spotify Korea’s Daily Top Songs chart. Remarkably, “WHO”maintained its No. 1 status for 144 consecutive days as of December 9, 2024, despite lacking official promotional efforts.

Furthermore, “Like Crazy,”the lead single from his first solo album FACE, set a record by remaining at No. 1 for 268 days on the same chart. The song has accrued over 1.3 billion streams on Spotify, while “WHO”has reached an impressive 1 billion streams to date.

Jimin’s Continued Success with MUSE

Continuing his triumph, Jimin’s album MUSE debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, making him the first Korean solo artist to achieve two albums in the top two positions. His previous album, FACE, had also debuted at No. 2 in April 2023.

Additionally, MUSE topped the Billboard World Albums chart for six consecutive weeks, setting a new record for the longest run for a Korean or Asian solo artist. Impressively, it became the first K-pop album of 2024 to surpass 900 million streams on Spotify.

The lead single “WHO”achieved significant milestones, remaining on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks—the best performance by any of Jimin’s solo offerings so far—and established itself as the longest-streaming song from his solo collection.
