On November 12, SM Entertainment uploaded a post through Girls’ Generation’s account on X (Twitter), which celebrated the milestone of “Mr. Mr”for reaching 100 million views on YouTube.

“Mr. Mr”is one of SNSD’s legendary tracks, and with the song’s achievement of reaching 100 million views, the moment was indeed something worth celebrating.

While the post had good intentions from the start, the agency was still called out by many SONEs since Jessica wasn’t included in the poster.

According to fans, Jessica laid out a big contribution during SNSD’s “Mr. Mr”era, from her high notes to huge line distribution that amplified the song’s presence. With her omission from the post, many were angered with SM’s decision to showcase eight members. Read their comments below:

However, not all fans shared the same sentiment. Many of them stated that SM didn’t do anything wrong by posting eight members, since Jessica was truly in fact not a member of SNSD anymore.

On September 30, 2014, the internet received a swirling rumor that Jessica would be leaving Girls’ Generation. This was confirmed by SM Entertainment, declaring the group would be continuing their promotions as an eight-membered group.

On October 1, 2014, Jessica finally confirmed that she was told to leave SM. According to the singer, she revealed her plan of establishing Blanc and Eclare (formerly BLANC), her independent fashion company.

The problem arose when Jessica’s solo endeavors interfered with her schedules with SNSD. On August 6, 2015, SM officially announced her departure from the girl group.
