IShowSpeed Purchases $250K Chinese Car Capable of Autonomous Jumping and Turning

Popular YouTube streamer Darren “IShowSpeed”is currently on an exciting journey across China, partaking in a viral streaming event that showcases the nation’s rich cultural heritage. His travels have taken him to major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu, each offering a glimpse into their unique traditions. Most recently, he made a stop in Chongqing, famously dubbed the “Cyber City,”where he encountered cutting-edge advancements in Chinese engineering, notably a remarkable $250,000 electric vehicle.

Darren enthusiastically shared that he has added this impressive car to his growing collection, which already includes a Lamborghini Huracan themed after Cristiano Ronaldo. In a captivating YouTube Shorts video, he unveiled his latest acquisition and highlighted its innovative features:

“I just bought this $250,000 car in China, let’s see what it can do. The even does the ‘Seweyy’! Chat, the car can even dance by itself, look… This car can even turn by itself! It can turn by itself! I’m not even pressing nothing!.. Did it just jump? Oh, hell nah!.. Chat, these cars in China crazy bruh.”

In the video, the streamer demonstrated the car’s remarkable ability to lift itself off the ground, reminiscent of a jump, and humorously likened its motion to Ronaldo’s iconic ‘Suii’ celebration. The car can also tilt and shift in response to the movements of his smartphone, a feature that Speed playfully referred to as the car “dancing.”

Additionally, IShowSpeed showcased the U9’s ability to execute 360-degree spins with just the touch of a button, further emphasizing its unique capabilities.

The electric supercar featured in IShowSpeed’s video is the BYD Yangwang U9, which was launched by BYD Auto’s luxury offshoot, Yangwang, in February 2024. Helmed by design expert Wolfgang Egger—renowned for his work with Alfa Romeo, Audi, and Lamborghini—the U9 represents the peak of technological innovation combined with high-performance automotive engineering.

With an astonishing output of over 1,200 horsepower, the BYD Yangwang U9 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 2.3 seconds. In contrast, IShowSpeed’s Lamborghini Huracan manages the same feat in a range of 2.9 to 3.4 seconds.

A standout feature of the U9, as highlighted by the streamer, is its dynamic maneuverability, which encompasses abilities such as “jumping,””dancing,”and even driving on three wheels.

However, it is worth noting that the U9 comes with a price tag exceeding that of Speed’s Lamborghini, which is approximately $200,000.

In addition to his purchase, while in China, IShowSpeed also had the opportunity to test drive the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. This electric vehicle boasts impressive specifications that exceed those of his Lamborghini, while also being considerably more affordable.
