10 Iconic Twisted Metal Characters Who Should Be Featured in Season 2

With the debut of Peacock’s Twisted Metal series, viewers were introduced to a fresh lineup of characters, yet a wealth of potential fan-favorites from the video game world remain unutilized. As an avid player of the Twisted Metal franchise, one of my primary curiosities surrounding the announcement of the TV adaptation was how they would expand upon the game’s rich lore. Notably, the first season served largely as a prequel, skillfully blending iconic characters from the video game universe while introducing us to the protagonist, John Doe.

The conclusion of season 1 lays the groundwork for a turbulent demolition derby in season 2, presenting an ideal chance to incorporate additional characters from the source material. Among the most anticipated newcomers are Calypso, Axel, and the real Raven, but numerous others deserve their moment in the spotlight. This includes those known for their engaging personalities as well as characters that would enhance the overall narrative.

10 Black

The Demon Behind The Twisted Metal Tournament

The series has already provided an initial look at Calypso, a character imbued with supernatural powers. Given that the show may fully embrace these elements, it’s only fitting to include Black, who serves as a crucial component in the series’ dark tapestry. One of my favorite interpretations of Black’s origin comes from a storyline where Calypso draws upon his powers to grant wishes to victorious tournament participants.

9 Mr. Ash

A Leader Of Hell Who Wants His Demon Back

Mr. Ash from the Twisted Metal games.

While Calypso made an appearance late in season 1, the extent of the show’s exploration into the supernatural was still uncertain. However, with both Calypso and Mr. Grimm slated for season 2, the trailer hints at an embrace of the paranormal, featuring a moment that suggests a soul extraction. In this context, Mr. Ash’s inclusion would add depth, portraying him as a formidable adversary—or even an unlikely ally for John Doe and Quiet.

8 Sophie Kane

Sweet Tooth’s Resurrected Daughter

Sophie Kane, aka Sweet Chick, in Twisted Metal (2012)

Among the standout characters in season 1 was Sweet Tooth, portrayed brilliantly by Samoa Joe and Will Arnett. To further enrich this character, introducing Sophie Kane, also known as Sweet Chick and Sweet Tooth’s daughter from the 2012 game, could create compelling family dynamics. While the show reimagines Sweet Tooth’s backstory, we could explore Sophie as the product of an earlier relationship, providing interesting narrative opportunities as she navigates the chaos of her father’s world.

7 No-Face

A Boxer Whose Eyes And Mouth Are Sewn Shut

During a pivotal moment in season 1, Sweet Tooth refers to his time at Blackfield Asylum, subtly paving the way for a potential introduction of No-Face, a character from that very institution. No-Face’s disturbing visuals would undoubtedly intensify the show’s horror elements while simultaneously offering a poignant commentary on medical ethics and mental health.

6 Quatro

The Weirdest Character In The Twisted Metal Games

Quatro from Twisted Metal 4

Initially, I never would have considered Quatro for the show, but a clever suggestion from a user on r/TwistedMetal opened my eyes. Given John Doe’s reference to extraterrestrials in season 1, bringing Quatro into the mix would add a humorous twist. The show could give his car—an actual spaceship—a gritty, post-apocalyptic look, ideally showcasing his eccentricity in a limited role similar to the character Granny Dread.

5 Petunia

A Drag Queen Milkman Who Was Underutilized In Twisted Metal Season 1

While several characters were omitted from season 1, Petunia certainly stands out as an underused gem. Originating from Twisted Metal 4, Petunia’s character exudes camp, humor, and potential for thrilling action. Played by Alexa Milano, her brief appearance in episode 7 felt limiting, and I would love to see her thrive in season 2, bringing her flamboyant style and a fiery hot rod to the demolition derby scenes.

4 Rob Zombie

The Undead Celebrity Racer Who Races His Dragula

Although Twisted Metal III and IV were the only installments not helmed by David Jaffe and Scott Campbell, they introduced a compelling twist to the franchise through Rob Zombie’s musical contributions. His inclusion as a playable character demonstrated the crossover potential with the horror genre. Given the current trajectory of supernatural elements in season 2, it would be a dream come true for Rob Zombie to make a cameo appearance, despite the likely challenges of scheduling.

3 Kelly

Raven’s Witchy Girlfriend Who Gets Murdered

Kelly from Twisted Metal Black

If Raven makes her anticipated appearance in season 2, Kelly certainly warrants at least a cameo. Though she’s referenced in season 1, it would be refreshing to see her charismatic presence on-screen. As an influential character, her unique aesthetic provides ample opportunity for a post-apocalyptic reimagining, and depicting her relationship with Raven more explicitly would enhance the storyline.

2 Mortimer Scharf

A Racer Who Wants Revenge For The Lost Souls

Mortimer from Twisted Metal

Among the many candidates for inclusion, Mortimer Scharf stands out as a potential supernatural figure for season 2. His motivation to avenge lost souls aligns perfectly with the themes of violence and vengeance within Twisted Metal. As the first season hints at a revamped tournament narrative, the introduction of Mortimer could provide a chilling background as he seeks retribution against Calypso.

1 Minion

A Demon Who Drives A Tank

A fan-favorite character from the earlier iterations of Twisted Metal, Minion is a demon known for piloting a massive tank. My enthusiasm for his potential appearance in the Peacock series stems from his iconic design and the distinct dark energy he contributes. If the showrunners manage to depict complex characters like Axel effectively, I look forward to seeing how they reinterpret Minion—either in season 2 or as a potential setup for a third season.
