Jessie Buckley recently opened up about her personal life during a January 2024 episode of the podcast Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware. She shared that she and “Freddie”had a private wedding ceremony in Norfolk in 2023, a fact that was kept under wraps until her revelation.
“He is gorgeous!”Buckley exclaimed, expressing her affection for her husband.
In a further discussion about the nuptials, Buckley described how their friends Lori and Laura helped orchestrate the intimate ceremony. Instead of a traditional honeymoon, the couple embraced a unique experience, joining friends on various holiday getaways.
“We actually just kind of bottled into friends’ holidays. Loads of friends were going away and they rented places and were like ‘come with us, come with us!'”
She humorously added:
“Usually I’m away shooting something but because of the strikes everything got moved so I’ve had a whole year just to hang out!”
While details about “Freddie”remain scarce, reports from the Daily Mail indicate that he hails from Islington in North London and that the couple initially met on a blind date set up by mutual friend Marc Robinson, a music executive who collaborated with Buckley on the 2018 film Wild Rose.

Prior to her relationship with Freddie, Jessie Buckley was involved with actor James Norton from 2015 to 2017. Although both have kept much of their relationship private, Buckley acknowledged their split in a 2018 interview with The Times.
“We have broken up, yes. It was acrimonious, but it’s a tough job to have a relationship and he is a great man and we are great friends. That’s it. How diplomatic can I sound? If you are away for a year filming, you are just not physically around at points,”she stated.
Buckley conveyed her appreciation for her time with Norton, adding in a report from the Belfast Telegraph:
“Obviously [talking about him] isn’t something I’m comfortable with. I’m private. I can’t help who I fall in love with. It’s about the person. He’s a great guy, and we’re great friends, and I’m really grateful it happened.”
After their breakup, Norton became engaged to actress Imogen Poots in 2022, although they parted ways a year later.
