Twitch streamer known as Pirate Software, or Thor, has recently come under fire following reported threats from fellow streamer MattyPocketTV. Thor has publicly shared a screenshot from his X inbox that displays alarming messages from MattyPocketTV, prompting Thor to emphasize that he can pursue legal action due to the accessibility of MattyPocketTV’s “payment information and identity” available through Twitch.
Among the messages, MattyPocketTV specifically instructed Pirate Software to steer clear of Hardcore World of Warcraft (WoW). For context, MattyPocketTV boasts over 107,000 followers on Twitch and is notable for winning the Smite World Championship in 2021. In a direct confrontation, Thor addressed MattyPocketTV, stating:
“Hey @MattyPocketTV you do realize that it’s super easy to follow up on threats like this with law enforcement right? Especially when you tie your Twitter and @Twitch to one another. Since you’re partnered your payment information and identity are on file with the platform.”
The Context Behind the Threats

The reasons behind MattyPocketTV’s hostile messages are still unclear. Speculation suggests that the threats may be connected to Thor’s recent fallout with the OnlyFangs guild. In a notable incident, he quit mid-raid, which reportedly resulted in the demise of several players in-game, igniting backlash from the community.
Content creators widely criticized Thor for his actions, notably Dota 2 commentator SyndereN, who mocked him during an esports event. Additionally, Chance “Sodapoppin,” the owner of the OnlyFangs guild, expressed frustration over Thor’s lack of accountability during the WoW controversy, commenting:
“Pirate absolutely could have saved them if he played his class to a basic level, which he claims to know how to do. I’ve seen clips, and I’ve heard it. He claims he knows how to do, clearly could not in the panic, and then refused to accept any accountability on that. That’s it. That’s all this is.”
In a further display of disdain, MattyPocketTV’s messages included derogatory language and accusations of irresponsibility directed at Thor:
“Just a friendly reminder, you’re a fa**ot and I hope I see you at an event soon. Stay out of HC (hardcore) WoW dum**ss b**ch. Zero accountability pu**y.”
In response to the threats, Thor has signaled his readiness to take legal measures against MattyPocketTV. He wrote to a user on X, claiming that he has compiled evidence for a police report, stating:
“Seeing as all of his socials link back to one another and I have already taken screenshots of everything for the police report it doesn’t matter what he says at this point. Hard to refute when you personally claim ownership over the account sending these messages.”
In lighter news, Pirate Software has recently streamed Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, describing the experience as “fun.” Despite the controversies surrounding him, he appears to be moving forward with his gaming content.
