Exciting News: A Fourth Installment of the Now You See Me Franchise Is on the Horizon
The popular Now You See Me series is set to expand with an upcoming fourth film. Ruben Fleischer has officially joined the project as both director and developer. This announcement was made by Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair, Adam Fogelson, during the recent CinemaCon event held in Las Vegas.
About the Franchise
The original Now You See Me, released in 2013, introduced audiences to a captivating group of illusionists who engage in spectacular bank heists while performing for their fans. The franchise has enjoyed commercial success, grossing a staggering $687 million globally across its prior films, including the sequel released in 2016.
Upcoming Installations
During the same presentation at CinemaCon, Fogelson revealed the title of the upcoming third film: Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. This installment is set to hit theaters on November 14. Fleischer, who directed this new film, has brought back beloved franchise stars such as Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman, while also introducing new talent, including Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Rosamund Pike.
What to Expect
Fogelson expressed his confidence in Fleischer’s vision for the franchise: “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect, while also elevating the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for the audience to discover what he’s done with the third film, and we’re thrilled he’ll be creating even more magic with us for the fourth.”
Behind the Scenes
Key producers for the fourth installment include Bobby Cohen, a familiar name within the franchise, and Alex Kurtzman from Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee production for Lionsgate. Fleischer, reflecting on his experience with Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, remarked, “Directing was as enjoyable as any film in my career. It uniquely blends my two passions: heist stories and magic—working with this amazing cast was truly a magical experience. I’m eager to continue this journey.”
