Crunchyroll has officially announced that the 9th Crunchyroll Anime Awards will be held on May 25, 2025. Get Ready for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards is heralded as one of the most significant honors in the anime community. Notably, previous winners in the coveted ‘Anime of the Year’ category include celebrated titles such as Yuri on Ice, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, and Made in Abyss.

According to the official announcements, the awards will recognize outstanding anime series released in 2024 across various categories, including ‘Anime of the Year’ and ‘Best Original Anime Series.’ Fans will enjoy an engaging voting experience during the voting window, which runs from April 3 to April 14, 2025.

How Voting Works

A panel of judges, whose identities are yet to be revealed, will select six nominees from a comprehensive list of candidates. These nominees will then be put forward for voting, allowing fans and the judges to determine the top series in each category.

Meet the Hosts

This year’s ceremony will feature two prominent figures from the realm of Japanese entertainment. Sally Amaki, a talented bilingual voice actor, is recognized for her significant roles in both English and Japanese anime, including characters from Tomo-chan is a Girl, Bocchi the Rock, and Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Joining her is Jon Kabira, a freelance presenter who has also appeared in popular films such as Shrek the Third and Shrek Forever After.

New Categories and Celebrated Traditions

This year’s awards will also introduce three exciting new categories: Best Voice Artist Performance (Hindi), Best Background Art Anime, and Best Isekai Anime, further diversifying the recognition of talent and creativity in anime. The traditional categories, including ‘Anime of the Year,’ ‘Film of the Year,’ and ‘Best New Series,’ will also be retained.

The highlight of the evening will culminate in the announcement of the ‘Anime of the Year’ award, which once again promises to be the grand finale of the event. Last year, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, produced by Studio MAPPA, took home this prestigious award in the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024.
