The Fields of Mistria features an expansive map that invites players to explore various locations, but gaining access to certain areas, such as the mines, presents a unique challenge. In this life simulation game, the shutdown mines play a crucial role in the “State of the Mines”quest, where the primary objective is to persuade a key character, Errol, to reopen them.
Unlocking the State of the Mines Quest

The mines are located in The Narrows, conveniently situated to the left of the museum. To begin the quest, you must first speak with Errol, the former overseer of the mines. Although he now serves as a member of the Historical Society at the museum, Errol remains instrumental in getting the mines reopened. However, his assistance comes with stipulations; he will only cooperate if you help him enhance the Town Rank to level ten.
Raising the Town Rank
Improving the Town Rank can be achieved through a variety of methods. Engaging in small tasks is essential—consider repairing the town bridge or donating items to the museum. These enjoyable and straightforward activities typically manifest as daily quests offered by local villagers, covering interactions such as farming and fishing.
Achieving Town Level 10
Once you accomplish the goal of reaching Town Level 10, expect a letter from Errol and Eiland inviting you to return to the mines. When you meet them at the entrance, you will be rewarded with a Copper Ingot, a helpful addition to your inventory.
With the mines now accessible, be sure to read through the introductory tutorial that outlines essential information before you delve into the depths. Understanding the mechanics of this exploration can enhance your experience and help you navigate through the vast opportunities that lie within.
