Rhythm + Flow Italy Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: Contestants Face Tougher Competition Performing Live

The highly anticipated Season 2 of Rhythm + Flow Italy premiered on Netflix on March 31, featuring the first four episodes. In this season, the prominent figures of the Italian rap industry are on a quest to discover and nurture new talent, putting contestants through a series of challenges that will ultimately secure them a position in the competition.

Episode 3: Headed for the Battles

In episode 3, titled Headed for the Battles, rappers faced off on stage before a live audience while being evaluated by distinguished members of the Italian rap scene. This critical performance determined which contestants would advance in the competition.

Judged by esteemed artists Geolier, Fabri Fibra, and Rose Villain, the session led to several contestants moving on to the next round known as the Cypher, while others faced elimination. A few exceptional performers were granted direct access to the battlegrounds, skipping the preliminary Cypher phase entirely.

Highlight Performances

The episode kicked off with Helena, who captured the crowd’s attention immediately. Expressing her determination, she showcased a strong performance that included a clever reference to the artist Manara—a nod that resonated with Geolier. All judges were impressed, granting her a spot in the final round.

Next was Joe Joe. Following a lively performance, judge Fabri Fibra pointed out some technical flaws, particularly in his rhythm changes. Despite this critique, the audience rallied behind him, prompting the judges to send him to the Cypher round. Rose Villain encouraged him, stating:

“I hope that tonight your ‘mild manner’ is a slap in the face, that you kill them with kindness.”

Krifal followed up next, impressing Geolier with his confidence, although Rose expressed that his emotional delivery didn’t quite match his lyrics. This led to his advancement to the Cypher challenge as well.

Flykush then performed, but Geolier suggested he could have structured his performance more effectively. Subsequently, he too was sent on to the Cypher round.

Erness took the stage next; however, Rose noted his tension, suggesting he use pauses effectively. In a similar fashion, judge Fibra pointed him towards the Cypher. Vago came up afterward and left a positive impression with his performance, despite the tough beat he had selected.

Next, Camilway‘s presence on stage captivated Rose, while Fibra encouraged him to enhance his vocabulary. This constructive feedback resulted in Camilway advancing straight to the battlegrounds.

Eos faced a challenging evaluation, with Fibra noting some memory lapses during her performance. Geolier praised her intensity but recognized her anxiety. After a plea for another chance, Eos was granted a spot in the Cypher round.

Pitta, a ghostwriter, struggled with forgetting his lines. Despite admitting to his anxiety, Fibra ultimately decided to send him home. Following him, Rione was critiqued for his timing and also eliminated for the same issues. DD faced a similar fate after blacking out during her performance.

Spampy brought a unique energy to his performance, which was well-received by Fibra, who appreciated his rhythm. However, Rose expressed uncertainty about his future potential, yet Spampy was sent to the Cypher.

“He was the only one who was in a total state of anxiety and had fun.”

Cuta followed him and quickly won over the judges, who praised his delivery and energy, sending him directly to the battles. The episode wrapped with Nox, who experienced a tough beginning but recovered to deliver a sensitive rap. The episode ended with tension, leaving viewers wondering if he would be eliminated or proceed to the next round.

New episodes of Rhythm + Flow Italy Season 2 are set to release on April 7 on Netflix, promising further excitement in the search for Italy’s next rap star.
