This temporary break from publication was shared alongside the exciting news that the upcoming chapters, numbered 22 and 23, will be featured upon the manga’s return. Additionally, fans can look forward to the release of Tonkobon volume 15 on April 4, 2025, adding to the excitement surrounding the series.

In addition to the manga, Under Ninja has spawned an anime adaptation produced by Tezuka Productions, a studio renowned for its work on acclaimed series like Dororo. This adaptation premiered in October 2023, comprising 12 episodes that aired weekly and concluded in December of the same year.

Notably, the anime has yet to fully explore all the manga’s content, leading many fans to speculate about a potential second season. Furthermore, the source material has also inspired a live-action film directed by Yuichi Fukuda, noted for his screenplay work on Gintama Live Action.

The storyline of Under Ninja revolves around a socially awkward high school student who seizes an extraordinary opportunity to become a ninja in modern Japan. Following the turmoil of World War II, Japan established an organization tasked with neutralizing threats across the Pacific. What began with a handful of skilled fighters has now expanded into a formidable force of over 20,000 assassins.

Central to this narrative is Kuro, the series’ main protagonist. As a frontline operative, he and his team engage in thrilling encounters to thwart invaders intending to destabilize Tokyo.
