“Very Selfless”: DDG Praises Kai Cenat, IShowSpeed, Adin Ross, and Others for Supporting His “HIT-A-THON” Livestream Event

Renowned rapper and Twitch streamer Darryl “DDG,”also familiar to his fans as “PontiacMadeDDG,”has triumphantly completed all challenges associated with his recent “HIT-A-THON”livestream event. This exciting initiative was launched with a unique promise: upon reaching 40,000 subscribers, DDG pledged to cut off his signature dreadlocks. Thanks to the unwavering support from his community, the milestone was achieved, leading to a live haircut during the broadcast.

As part of the HIT-A-THON, Darryl collaborated with numerous prominent artists and influencers. Notable figures such as actress Brittany Renner, rapper Kevin Gates, and various other personalities joined him for this special celebration. Additionally, fellow Twitch streamers like Kai Cenat, Deshae Frost, and Adin Ross played a crucial role, rallying their audiences to help propel DDG’s subscriber count beyond the expected goal.

Thank You Note to the Community

Expressing his gratitude, DDG acknowledged the enormous support he received throughout the event, sharing his thoughts during a heartfelt moment:

“Been seeing people like Kai, Speed, Max…you know, very selfless and don’t got no problem with supporting other people that’s trying to do s**t, you know? Ay, you know I’m just doing. I don’t know it’s just really cool to see motherf**kers support me. Max, Adin too as well…umm, Taiga. You know, I feel like the streaming community is just…you know I might miss names. No…I might miss names, a lot of people support me.”

Creating Music Live

During the HIT-A-THON livestream, DDG took the opportunity to create a new album in real-time, offering fans an exclusive look at his creative process. This included everything from lyric writing to song editing and publishing. Featured artists such as Tyrone “Ty Dolla $ign,” Dimitri “Rich the Kid,” and Collins “Shaboozey”enriched the livestream with their contributions.

Throughout the event, DDG and his production team engaged with these artists, producing music in front of a dedicated live audience. Several songs from this collaboration are already available on Darryl’s YouTube channel. After successfully bringing his ambitious project to fruition, he remarked:

“I really appreciate the streaming community because everybody is selfless. They don’t give a f**k about new ni**as coming up in the space and you know that’s a beautiful thing to see.”

Controversies and Triumphs

Although the HIT-A-THON was marked by some controversies—such as accusations against rapper DaBaby of appropriating PlaqueboyMax’s lyrical style—DDG’s event largely remained focused on positivity. Additionally, the appearance of Kevin Gates alongside Brittany Renner sparked critical conversations, particularly given Renner’s past grooming allegations in 2024, which raised eyebrows among Twitch users.

Regardless of these debates, the HIT-A-THON proved to be a resounding success, with DDG gaining over 42,000 new subscriptions during the stream and reaching a remarkable peak of over 90,000 concurrent viewers.

In a sign of reconciliation, DDG has seemingly mended his relationship with Kai Cenat, publicly thanking him for his support during the broadcast. DDG’s subathon timer remains active, with projections indicating that the livestream will officially conclude on April 2, 2025.
