Without waiting for the anticipated escalation of conflict among the Duttons, the episode delivered major plot twists, including the unexpected loss of a pivotal family member.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mann opened up about the unexpected killing of Jack at the hands of Clyde. He conveyed a spectrum of emotions as he came to terms with this plot development, as he cherished his role in the series. Here’s a glimpse of his heartfelt response:

It’s a tough one. When I read it, I went through all sorts of emotions. I was angry at first. I was pissed off. I was sad. I really grieved him in a whole bunch of different ways because I love playing Jack so much. He’s such a beautiful character. He’s naïve in all the best ways. He’s not naïve from a place of ignorance, but from a place of love and heart.

He’s always trying to do the right thing by everybody. So I was definitely saddened, because I just love playing this character. It was a nice character to be inside of. Some characters are pretty challenging just sitting with them day to day, but going to set and playing Jack was so much fun. He’s always trying to do the right thing.

As the series continues to unfold, fans eagerly anticipate how the narrative will shift following this significant character loss. With emotions running high, many are left wondering what lies ahead in the evolving Dutton saga.

Stay tuned for more updates on *1923* as the story progresses.
