Supercell has recently announced preliminary balance adjustments for Clash Royale, with the changes scheduled to take effect in Season 70, debuting in April 2025. This upcoming update aims to reshape the current meta by introducing a blend of nerfs, buffs, and reworks across various game cards. Notable changes include a significant reduction to the Tornado spell’s efficacy, a boost for the Berserker card, and an extensive rework for Goblin-related cards.
This article outlines the expected balance modifications for Clash Royale in Season 70, highlighting both nerfs and buffs to enhance gameplay dynamics.
Nerfs Coming in Clash Royale Season 70
In this season, several powerful cards are set to be weakened:
- Tornado: The damage for Tornado will see a drastic cut of 50%, dropping from 168 Hit Points to 84 Hit Points, reducing its effectiveness against groups of low-health troops.
- Rage: Expect a 23% decrease in damage, from 192 Hit Points down to 148 Hit Points, limiting its effectiveness against weaker units.
- Goblinstein: The Monster’s HP will be reduced by 4%, changing from 2,393 Hit Points to 2,304 Hit Points, easing its counterplay.
- Dagger Duchess: Her damage will be lowered by 4%, from 112 Hit Points to 107 Hit Points, making her attacks less formidable.
- Goblin Gang, Evolved Goblin Giant, Goblin Curse, Evolved Mortar, Goblin Drill, and Evolved Goblin Drill: All these cards will experience a 50% increase in First Hit Time, extending it from 0.4 seconds to 0.6 seconds, resulting in a slower attack initiation.
Buffs in Clash Royale Season 70

Several underperforming cards will receive enhancements to improve their in-game effectiveness:
- Berserker: This card will benefit from an 8% HP increase, going from 832 Hit Points to 896 Hit Points, making it more resilient during encounters.
- Suspicious Bush: The damage output of the Bush Goblin will rise by 13%, improving from 227 Hit Points to 256 Hit Points, intensifying the threat it poses upon activation.
- Evolved Tesla: The card will gain an 18% boost in Pulse Damage, adjusting from 148 Hit Points to 174 Hit Points, thereby enhancing its defensive capabilities.
Significant Reworks in Clash Royale Season 70

Several cards will undergo both buffs and nerfs, leading to comprehensive reworks:
- Evolved Lumberjack: The cycle duration for Rage will be increased from 1.00 to 2.00, enhancing its lasting influence. However, the damage of the spawned Ghost will also be reduced by 10%, from 232 Hit Points to 256 Hit Points.
- Goblins, Goblin Barrel, and Evolved Goblin Barrel: The First Hit Time for these cards will increase by 50%, moving from 0.4 seconds to 0.6 seconds, thereby altering their attack speed. To balance this, the deployment time for these troops will decrease by 17-18%, enabling quicker entry; Goblins will deploy in 1.0 seconds down from 1.2 seconds, and both the Goblin Barrel and its evolved version will see deployment times reduced to 0.9 seconds from 1.1 seconds.
These balance changes signify Supercell’s ongoing commitment to evolving the Clash Royale experience and fostering a competitive yet fair gaming environment.
