In this quest, you’ll team up with a fugitive ronin, Koshiro, as you assist him in locating his former ally, Commander Seiji. Brothers in Arms: Main Quest Walkthrough for Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Locate and Assist Koshiro
Your adventure begins to the northwest of Miko Docks, where Koshiro is overwhelmed by adversaries. It’s crucial to reach him swiftly, as he’s severely outmatched. Jump into the fray to help him eliminate his foes before you engage in conversation.
After the skirmish, Koshiro reveals that he’s on a mission to find Commander Seiji, a former comrade still in The Ox’s service. His position will then appear on your map, facilitating your search.
Journey to Kanki Castle
Utilize the Pathfinder option and mount your horse as you head west towards Kanki Castle. The most efficient route begins from the northern end near Jorakuji Temple. If you choose to play as Naoe, you can employ the grappling hook to stealthily enter without arousing the guards’ attention. Yasuke, on the other hand, must approach through the main entrance, which inevitably leads to a confrontation with the guards.
Upon entering the castle, use the Observe function to identify Seiji. He will be highlighted with a blue dot, though an occasional bug may show duplicate markers. Ignore the extras—look for the Commander positioned farthest to the west, where his name will appear above him as you get closer.
Confronting Commander Seiji
By the time you reach him, Koshiro will be engaged in combat with Seiji. This gives you a tactical advantage, resulting in a 2-on-1 confrontation that makes the boss fight relatively straightforward. If you are playing as Naoe, you have the option to backstab Seiji to circumvent the battle entirely. Otherwise, engage him with swordplay and utilize swift counterattacks for an effective takedown.
Upon Seiji’s defeat, you are presented with a final decision:
- Eliminate the commander
- Spare the commander
This choice is largely cosmetic; whether you decide to let him flee or execute him, the storyline remains unchanged.
Mission Completion and Rewards
Successfully finishing the Brothers in Arms mission awards you with 1000 EXP, pushing you closer to overcoming The Ox and delving deeper into the thrilling world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
