Asmongold Responds to Twitch’s Decision to Unban Adin Ross
Zack “Asmongold”has expressed his thoughts regarding Twitch’s recent choice to lift the indefinite ban on Adin Ross, effective March 29, 2025. The former OTK streamer revealed his astonishment at the Amazon-owned platform’s decision to reinstate Adin’s channel after a two-year hiatus.
Just a week prior, Adin Ross had predicted that he would be unbanned from Twitch, a claim that became reality with the restoration of his channel after a seven-day suspension. Asmongold shared his reaction live on the Zackrwarr channel, indicating his surprise at the unbanning, particularly given the controversial nature of Ross’s actions.
“I wouldn’t directly advocate for Adin being unbanned. I think he is a gray area case, which is why I’m surprised that he got unbanned. I think that I could definitely make a stronger argument that somebody like Ice Poseidon and Destiny could get unbanned.”
Controversies Surrounding Adin Ross
Asmongold articulated that Adin Ross’s history, including past controversies such as his comments aimed at HasanAbi and various contentious remarks about transgender individuals, complicate the case for his reinstatement compared to other streamers. He noted:
“But Adin is harder to say, especially, like putting out a bounty on Hasan, finding stuff about Hasan that’s bad. That’s bad to do, for sure. Well, I don’t know, because he got banned after that. And then saying killing all trans people or something that Adin said or some variation of that. I don’t know if I would really go out and say 100% Adin should get unbanned. Which is why I’m surprised they unbanned him.”
Asmongold’s Predictions for the Future
While many fans of Adin Ross celebrated his return to Twitch, Asmongold had a more reserved viewpoint. He noted that the decision to unban Ross represented a significant shift for Twitch:
“So Adin Ross getting unbanned, that is actually a pretty big deal. I’m kind of surprised by that, especially after some of the things that he did. But it seems like Twitch might actually be changing things.”
When a viewer expressed skepticism, suggesting that Ross would soon find himself under ban again, Asmongold defended him, asserting that he doesn’t anticipate Adin Ross repeating past mistakes:
“‘What the f**k is Twitch thinking. F**k it then, just unban everyone. Just creating more work for yourself. They will get re-banned soon after.’ I don’t think Adin is going to get himself re-banned. I think he went on this crazy edgy-boy kind of nutso trip for a while. I don’t think he is going to go back there. Maybe I’m wrong about this. I don’t know. But that’s what I’m expecting. I don’t think he is really going to go that far again.”
Background on Adin Ross’s Suspension
Adin Ross was originally suspended indefinitely from Twitch on February 26, 2023, due to what he described as an “unmoderated chat.”Now, with the lifting of his ban, he is once again free to stream on the platform.
