As 2025 approaches, Call of Duty: Warzone is set to make waves, marking its fifth anniversary with the much-anticipated return of the storied Verdansk battle royale map. In celebration, players will have the opportunity to revisit some of Warzone’s most legendary weapons. Each integration of Warzone with the latest Call of Duty installment has typically introduced fresh weaponry, yet few have left as lasting an impression as those from Modern Warfare (2019), which defined Warzone’s initial gameplay experience.
Given the recent decline in player count, the stakes for Verdansk’s return are high. To alleviate potential frustrations for returning players, the game will facilitate access to some of the finest weapons in Warzone history. A notable resurgence involves a weapon that has seen minimal use in multiplayer and Warzone—the Swat 5.56 from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This situation is expected to change significantly with the arrival of Season 3 on April 2, thanks to an innovative attachment modification.
Reviving the Swat 5.56 with an Exciting Conversion Kit
Swat 5.56 Set to Dominate the Meta

The Swat 5.56, a Marksman rifle, has been overshadowed by the more robust options in Black Ops 6. Its performance in Warzone post-integration has been lackluster, with the XM4 outperforming it across the board and even offering a burst-fire mod that enhances its utility. However, the landscape is poised for a shift with the inclusion of a new Conversion Kit Attachment during Season 3, which transforms the Swat 5.56 into the Grau 5.56 assault rifle—an iconic force in Warzone’s early meta.
While it’s unfortunate that the Grau won’t feature as a standalone weapon in the game, this new Conversion Kit is notably more effective than previous iterations in Black Ops 6. It grants the Swat 5.56 two extra attachments: a 50-round magazine and a standard barrel attachment, which are fixed and reminiscent of those equipped on the Grau in Modern Warfare. This enhancement ensures players won’t sacrifice existing attachments and can still utilize four additional slots for items such as muzzle devices or grips.
Classic Warzone Weapons Making a Comeback for Free

It’s important to note that players will need to unlock and level up the Grau in Black Ops 6 and Warzone for use with the conversion kit. However, this requirement doesn’t apply to two additional classic weapons making their return. The CR-56 AMAX assault rifle and the HDR sniper rifle will be featured in Season 3’s Battle Pass, likely at tiers three and six based on precedence from previous Battle Pass unlocks.
Moreover, a third iconic weapon—the Kilo 141 Assault Rifle—will be available at no cost to players who log into Warzone during the initial launch period. As Black Ops 6 Season 3 kicks off on April 2, Warzone will undergo a 24-hour downtime, but players can eagerly anticipate jumping back into Verdansk on April 3 with these legendary weapons at their disposal.
