After an engaging livestream event on the official Honkai: Star Rail YouTube channel, HoYoverse confirmed that Version 3.2 will launch on April 9 across all supported platforms. This announcement assures fans that the update remains on track, adhering to the game’s established six-week update cycle without any reported delays.

While the April 9 date marks the update’s arrival, it does not imply that all content will be available immediately. Notably, the Phase 2 character banners will debut on April 30, and players can start claiming some anniversary events on April 26. To optimize their gaming experience and resource management, players need to strategize accordingly, especially if they aim to acquire characters introduced in Phase 1. Fortunately, HoYoverse has publicly shared the character banners for Honkai: Star Rail 3.2, highlighting 4-star units with elevated drop rates.

The leaks have proven accurate, as HoYoverse unveils two new playable characters arriving with Version 3.2: Castorice and Anaxa. Castorice, a 5-star Quantum character aligned with the Path of the Remembrance, features a unique gameplay style that involves draining allies’ HP to gather Charge. Upon reaching sufficient Charge, she can summon the formidable Netherwing memosprite, significantly boosting her damage output. This memosprite can also absorb lethal damage for allies and initiate a powerful explosion upon departing.

Moreover, Castorice’s renowned revive mechanic has been included in the final build, enabling her to bring back fallen allies, even those not currently in the active party.

Anaxa, the other new 5-star character, represents the Wind element and follows the Path of the Erudition. His unique ability to afflict increased Weakness on enemies ties directly to his damage potential. Once an enemy accrues enough Weaknesses, Anaxa can deal amplified damage and even trigger an additional free skill with subsequent attacks. Notably, his Ultimate applies the Sublimination state to all opponents, inflicting a total of seven Weaknesses.

In addition to the new characters, the upcoming update will also feature four highly anticipated rerun events. According to the recent livestream, the character banner lineup has been confirmed, including Fugue, Jiaoqiu, Acheron, and Dr. Ratio. Castorice will make her debut during the Phase 1 banners, accompanied by Fugue, Jiaoqiu, and Acheron’s first reruns, while Anaxa will join Dr. Ratio in the Phase 2 banner. Increased drop rates for characters Pela, Gallagher, and Lynx will also be present in Phase 1, with Dan Heng, Serval, and Moze highlighted in Phase 2.

Importantly, this patch marks the first reruns for characters Jiaoqiu, Fugue, and Dr. Ratio. Players looking to recruit these characters should seize this unique opportunity. Jiaoqiu and Fugue were initially released in the latter half of the previous year, while Dr. Ratio, an Imaginary character, has not made a return since Version 2.1.

The upcoming Trailblaze Mission Chapter, titled Through the Petals in the Land of Repose, will be a key component of the new update. Divided into two arcs, the first arc focuses on Castorice and introduces a new map called Styxia on Amphoreus. Here, players will navigate challenges while seeking the Coreflame of Death from the Titan Thanatos, encountering a new boss, Pollux, who employs HP-draining attacks.

The second arc delves into political intrigue, featuring the Council of Elders in a power struggle against the Flame-Chase Journey and the Chrysos Heirs within the narrative of Honkai: Star Rail. Anaxa is also expected to play a significant role in this plotline.

Beyond the primary story quests, exciting events such as Seal Slammers will provide players with entertaining challenges. This particular event centers around eliminating seals in a competitive, pool-themed mini-game and rewards players with valuable items like Tracks of Destiny and Stellar Jade, alongside a potential new Chimera pet in Honkai: Star Rail.

Another combat-centric event, Morning Starlight, is set for Version 3.2, featuring exclusive mechanics and trial characters, further enhancing the gameplay experience.

In celebration of the game’s anniversary, HoYoverse has outlined an engaging event called Star Rail WORLD that simulates a business management experience, prompting players to unlock exhibition booths while maximizing profits. This unique event will offer rewards, including Stellar Jade and a 4-star Light Cone named The Great Cosmic Enterprise, likely a useful addition to Anaxa’s kit.

Additionally, the Festive Gifts login event will distribute 20 Star Rail Special Passes to players. On April 26, participants can claim 1,600 Stellar Jade (equating to 10 Star Rail Special Passes) along with 10 Fuel. The return of the Annual Trailblaze Report and the limited-time 300% variants of Realm of the Strange and Planar Fissure, which yield triple rewards for Relics and Ornaments respectively, will also enrich players’ experiences. On top of all this, players can look forward to obtaining a free Luocha or Ruan Mei.

In a significant change, HoYoverse will also revamp the banner system, allowing players to create customized 50/50 loss pools, which will include characters like Seele, Blade, and Fu Xuan. While unconfirmed, leaks suggest these characters may not rerun in future banners.

As part of broader update plans, specific characters such as Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka, and Jingliu are set for enhancements. Moreover, players can expect the introduction of another free 5-star character in a forthcoming Finality Mission for Penacony in Version 3.8 titled Memories are the Prelude to Dreams. With so much on the horizon, Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 promises to deliver an enriched gaming experience that fans have eagerly anticipated.
