Yousef “Fousey”: A Multifaceted Career Journey
Yousef “Fousey”has made a name for himself across various domains, transitioning from a YouTube prankster to a full-time streamer and even foraying into music. His evolution recently included the release of his rap album, G7: The Death of Fousey, in 2025, showcasing his ambitions beyond the screen. In a recent livestream, Fousey took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, revisiting his time as an actor.
Acting Debut in Tyler Perry’s Comedy Horror
Back in 2016, while still establishing himself as a prominent YouTuber, Fousey appeared in Tyler Perry’s comedy horror film Boo! A Madea Halloween. In this film, he portrayed Jonathan, a fraternity member caught in the whirlwind of Madea’s antics during a college party. This role marked his entry into the film industry, alongside other social media personalities like Liza Koshy and JC Caylen.
The following year, Fousey reprised his role in the sequel, Boo 2!, continuing his collaboration with Perry and furthering his career in entertainment.
Chatting About Residuals on Kick Stream
On March 27, during a Kick livestream, Fousey shared his surprise with viewers as he opened a residuals check from the film’s TV broadcasts, revealing the income he still earns from his acting work. His candid reaction provided an engaging moment for his audience.
Financial Insights from “Boo!”
Fousey disclosed that he received a total of two checks—one covering residuals from the original film and another from the sequel:
“Tyler Perry, total gross, $405.58. I got a check for $405 for the Tyler Perry movie on this check, and these are just residuals you get for a lifetime, from every time a movie plays on TV… it’s free money.”
Despite the sequel’s moderate success, the original Boo! A Madea Halloween was a box office hit, earning over $74.8 million against a $20 million budget. In contrast, its follow-up grossed $48.3 million globally on a $25 million budget.
Fousey’s $405 check was connected to the sequel, which did not perform as strongly as its predecessor. For his contribution to the original film, however, he received significantly higher residuals:
“There was another [check]… Oh! $858.02! Let’s go! This movie obviously got played more… the more expensive one was for the first movie.”
Fousey’s Recent Personal Commitment
In addition to his entertainment contributions, Fousey has embraced a personal challenge during Ramadan by undertaking a 30-day water-only fast, showcasing his commitment to spiritual reflection and personal growth during this significant month.
