The Church Cellar Key in Atomfall is crucial for unlocking a key narrative element within the game. This title features six distinct endings, each influenced by six pivotal non-playable characters (NPCs): Dr. Alan Holder, Dr. Gattow, the Unknown Telephone Caller, Mother Jago, Captain Sims, and Joyce Tanner. While players will directly engage with most of these characters, Dr. Alan Holder is somewhat obscured, as his name is not explicitly mentioned during interactions, making him easy to overlook.
This guide aims to assist you in locating the Church Cellar Key and subsequently finding the door that leads to Dr. Alan Holder.
Where to Find the Church Cellar Key in Atomfall
Your quest for the Church Cellar Key begins in the Interchange. If you are just starting out and have not yet powered the data centers or ventured into this area, you will need to acquire at least one Atomic Battery.
Atomic Batteries are available in a couple of different ways. One option is to trade with Molly, a trader located in Slatten Dale. Alternatively, you could adopt a more aggressive strategy by eliminating her and claiming the battery from her body.

An alternative method is to head to Wyndham Village and engage with a murder case at St. Katherine’s Church. Upon solving the case and reporting to Vicar McHenry, he will reward you with a chest key. Ascend the stairs to locate the chest and retrieve your Atomic Battery. If you prefer a more ruthless approach, consider taking out the Vicar and looting the key from his remains.
Gaining Access to the Interchange
Once you have secured an Atomic Battery, make your way to the Interchange via the Slatten Dale entrance. Navigate to the coordinates 31.0 E, 77.8 N to locate the entrance.

Once inside, proceed forward and use your modified keycard to open the large door. Be prepared, as bats will attack you upon entry—take them out with melee combat.
Continue onward and crawl below an ajar shutter. Shortly after, you will find another locked door that requires the modified keycard for access. Once inside, you’ll discover a deceased scientist in a hazmat suit, along with an Atomic Battery located nearby. Insert this battery into the console located on your left to activate the Interchange bootstrap system.
Return through the hallway and before reaching the shutter, you will find two paths—one to the right and another to the left. Take the right path and unlock the door. If the door reveals Data Center Charlie, you have chosen correctly; if it states Data Center Bravo, retrace your steps and opt for the other route.
Locating the Church Cellar Key
Within Data Center Charlie, install the Atomic Battery into the designated console to energize the area, which will simultaneously unlock a nearby door. Move forward, ascend the stairs, and proceed straight through the hallway, taking the right turn following the signs along the walls.

Eventually, you will encounter another locked shutter; unlock it and proceed. On your left, there will be an entrance to the Medical area.
Inside the Medical area, head to the Main Reception. From this point, turn right, followed by another immediate right. At the end of this corridor, you will find an audio log along with the coveted Church Cellar Key.
Unlocking Dr. Alan Holder’s Location
With the Church Cellar Key in your possession, return to Wyndham Village and make your way to St. Katherine’s Church at coordinates 33.0 E, 78.8 N. Descend into the basement, where a locked door awaits you on the east side. Interact with this door to gain access and discover Dr. Alan Holder within.
