The first season of The Last of Us, which premiered in 2023, quickly became a cultural phenomenon, captivating audiences worldwide. With the much-anticipated second season set to debut on Sunday, April 13, on HBO and Max, excitement is at an all-time high. Fans can look forward to a total of seven episodes released weekly.
To commemorate the upcoming season, Four Sigmatic has launched a special edition coffee blend themed around the series.
Discovering Four Sigmatic’s The Last of Us Coffee

This unique coffee blend incorporates premium Arabica beans combined with cordyceps and lion’s mane mushrooms, enriched with vitamin B12 and coffee bean extract. It is characterized as a dark roast, delivering a rich flavor profile with hints of dark chocolate.

The Last of Us coffee will retail for $19.99 per 10-ounce bag on Four Sigmatic’s website. Additionally, it will be available at Sprouts Farmers Market, Fresh Thyme, and Amazon in April, albeit for a limited period.

During the recent Natural Products Expo West held from March 12-16, Four Sigmatic announced exciting new products slated for release later in the year. Having been at the forefront of the mushroom coffee movement in the United States for nearly a decade, the brand stands out in this niche market.
In a discussion highlighted by Food Navigator, Isokauppila shared insights on how the rising popularity of documentaries about medicinal mushrooms has positively influenced consumer attitudes toward them.
He noted:
“There are the mushroom consumers, and then there is the coffee replacement part. I think more and more people are aware that mushrooms are good for you. They have seen Netflix documentaries about fantastic fungi.”
The discussion also touched on economic concerns and their potential impact on the coffee industry. Addressing the topic, Isokauppila remarked:
“Coffee is not that volatile during economic recessions because people still want to drink coffee, but then it impacts the whole ecosystem a lot.”
He further elaborated on broader market challenges:
“Outside of the tariffs, green coffee prices have more than doubled in the last year. And the same with cocoa. We sell hot cocoa, and that has dramatically gone up. So, raw material prices are definitely a main worry.”
