The mission “Lords of Azuchi”is a pivotal part of the main questline in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Guide to Completing the Lords of Azuchi Main Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Step 1: Initiating the Quest
Your journey begins at Oda’s Keep, situated at the northern part of Azuchi Castle. During this mission, castle guards will remain neutral and will not pose a threat. Upon your arrival at the keep, you will meet Niwa Nagahide, triggering an engaging cutscene that transitions Yasuke into a flashback.
This specific mission centers exclusively around Yasuke. If you attempt to play as Naoe, the game will prompt you to switch back to Yasuke to continue.
Step 2: Following Ranmaru
Once the flashback is initiated, you take control of Yasuke again and must follow Ranmaru through the castle. He will lead you to a set of ornate doors where he encourages you to enter.
Upon entering the room, you will engage in a conversation with Nobunaga. Dialogue options will present themselves, such as commenting on the Jesuits or discussing samurai traditions. These interactions are largely cosmetic and do not affect the storyline, allowing you to select responses that best represent your version of Yasuke.
Step 3: Target Practice
Following your chat with Nobunaga, you will face a shooting challenge at a designated range, armed with a Teppo. Your goal is to successfully hit four out of five targets positioned at the far end. You can replenish your ammunition from a crate nearby should you run low. However, your practice session will be abruptly cut short by an ambush.
Step 4: Defending Against Shinobi
As the ambush unfolds, a group of six to seven shinobi will emerge from a cloud of smoke to attack. Fortunately, allied soldiers will be present to distract them. It’s advisable to utilize the Teppo for long-range attacks initially, then switch to close combat techniques if necessary to finish off the remaining foes. Once all shinobi are eliminated, the immediate threat subsides, allowing you to regroup.
Step 5: Concluding the Quest
After dispatching the attackers, another cutscene will unfold, depicting Nobunaga and his generals as they strategize their next move. You’ll be presented with several dialogue choices, which could range from calling for an immediate assault to proposing a more strategic approach or advocating patience. It is important to note that your selections won’t influence the ultimate direction of the story, as Nobunaga will ultimately dictate the path forward.
Successful completion of the “Lords of Azuchi”quest awards you with 1,000 XP. Additionally, this mission unlocks five new investigation quests linked to each of the eleven masked samurai from the Shinbakufu. The unlocked quests include An Evening in Otsu, A Talk with a Lady, The Rengakai, A Voice in Anger, and Red Walls. Engaging in these quests will enhance Yasuke’s reputation as a loyal samurai under the leadership of Oda Nobunaga.
