Completing the Showdown in Sakamoto Main Quest

The Showdown in Sakamoto quest initiates automatically after you wrap up the previous mission, Against the Koga-ryu. Following Naoe’s persuasion of Katsuhime to contribute to the assassination of Akeshi Kagemitsu, players will meet Shotei at Sakamoto Tower. Once you arrive, engage Shotei to trigger a cinematic cutscene where the group strategizes their actions.
After the cutscene, the team splits up, with each member assigned distinct tasks. While Naoe and Katsuhime focus on sabotaging explosives within a camp, Yasuke will take a more direct approach to his objectives.

Yasuke’s mission involves entering the Yoshimitsu Estate, where he will confront Gamo Yoshimitsu. Stealth is an option, allowing Yasuke to infiltrate silently, or players can choose to challenge Yoshimitsu directly in a duel.
Confront Gamo Yoshimitsu
This boss fight is manageable, especially for players proficient in Yasuke’s combat mechanics. However, it’s crucial not to underestimate Gamo Yoshimitsu, a skilled swordsman who demands careful engagement and strategic attacks.

After defeating Gamo, players will witness another cutscene that shifts focus to Naoe and Katsuhime. Naoe expresses dissatisfaction regarding Katsuhime’s use of a teppo weapon, leading to three dialogue choices:
- A teppo requires no talent.
- You make me nervous.
- I like your teppo.
Choose any option to proceed as Naoe and begin sabotaging the explosives.
Sabotage the Explosives

At this point, Katsuhime will scout ahead, allowing you to proceed with the demolition of three bomb sites scattered throughout a heavily guarded area. It’s crucial to eliminate each guard quietly to maintain stealth and ensure mission success. Clear markers indicate the locations of the explosives, so strategize your approach wisely.

After successfully detonating all explosives, align with Katsuhime on a rooftop nearby the armory. After a brief dialogue, your next assignment involves meeting her father near a docking area as you prepare for the mission’s climax.
Final Confrontation: Akechi Kagemitsu
Gathering at the docks with Shotei, players will learn the location of their target. The cutscene concludes with Shotei unveiling an entry point, leading to the mission’s most challenging segment.

As you navigate past guards, choose which character to play during the showdown. Playing as Yasuke offers brute strength, making it easier to confront Akechi Kagemitsu. Conversely, opting for Naoe allows for a stealthier approach to the assassination.

Playing as Yasuke may require a more aggressive route, engaging with enemy guards along the way. When you finally encounter Akechi Kagemitsu at the top of the castle, be prepared for a fierce battle.
Kagemitsu will prove to be a formidable foe, armed with a naginata that poses a serious threat. Maintain your distance and be prepared to heal as his attacks can significantly deplete your health.

After successfully defeating Akechi Kagemitsu, regroup with Shotei to conclude the Showdown in Sakamoto quest. Your completion reward includes a Mastery Point and 2000 XP for your achievements.
