Chained Soldier season 2 is poised to make its debut in 2026, a development confirmed during the Pony Canyon stage event at Anime Japan 2025 on March 23, 2025. Alongside this announcement, key details about the returning anime’s main production team were also unveiled.
This upcoming season will continue the story of Chained Soldier, which originally aired 12 engaging episodes from January 2024 to March 2024. Based on the popular manga serialized by Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ since January 2019, 17 collected volumes have been released to date, captivating a wide audience.
Chained Soldier Season 2: An Exciting Return in 2026
During the significant Anime Japan 2025 event held in Tokyo, the Pony Canyon booth showcased the official key visual for Chained Soldier season 2 and confirmed its release for the year 2026. Fans are eagerly awaiting further details, including an exact launch date, which is yet to be revealed.
The first visual highlights Ren Yamashiro, who leads the Magic Defense Force, as the focal character. Surrounding her are Kyoka Uzen, commander of the 7th Squad, Izumo Tenka, head of the 6th Squad, and Yuuki Wakura depicted in his slave mode, providing a sneak peek into the character dynamics of the upcoming season.
Significant changes in the production team were also announced. Initially, the anime was set to be produced solely by Studio Passione. However, recent updates indicate a collaborative effort with Hayabusa Film, with Masafumi Tamura directing the new season.
An impressive line-up of talent has been gathered for the project. Keiya Nakano, known for his work on the anime Loner Life in Another World, has been appointed as the character designer. The series composition will be overseen by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, with music composed by Kohta Yamamoto. Sound direction will be managed by Chikako Yokota, while Dax Production will handle sound production.
The production team also includes scriptwriters such as Yasuhiro Nakanishi, Taiki Ezaki, Kyota Kano, and Takahiro Nagase. Additional roles encompass Junpei Takatsu’s work in concept composition, Shino Ohara as the art director, and Takamasa Taba from SANZIGEN as the CG director, among others.
The original cast will return, featuring Akari Kito as Kyoka Uzen, Yume Miyamoto as Himari Azuma, and Mari Hino as Shushu Suruga. Notably, Kana Hanazawa will portray Ren Yamashiro, introducing a new dynamic to the series.
