This teaser features Mahdi, an Iranian native, experiencing his very first haircut in the United States. Unfortunately, the outcome was quite the opposite of his expectations, leading to an unexpected and unwelcome surprise: the barber not only cut Mahdi’s hair but also shaped his beard and mustache, resulting in visible disappointment.
Immediately after the haircut, Mahdi covered his mouth in disbelief and quickly got into Stevi’s car. When she inquired about the situation, he lowered his hand to reveal the unintended appearance of his trimmed mustache, exclaiming:
“I swear to God I can’t go out with this.”
Despite Stevi reminding him of their plans to visit a coffee shop, Mahdi insisted that they return home first to address the haircut disaster. At just 26 years old, he clarified that he never requested the barber to trim his mustache.
Mahdi’s Humorous Take: “I look like Batman”
As Stevi attempted to reassure him by stating he still looked “hot,”Mahdi remained unconvinced. During an on-camera interview, he confessed it was his very first experience getting a haircut in the U.S., and he struggled to voice his dissatisfaction with the barbers.
“What would I say, like, ‘Put it back?'”he said, illustrating his dilemma.
Stevi suggested that she could use some beard products to help Mahdi restore his mustache’s former glory. However, she expressed caution about applying too much to avoid creating an unnatural appearance.
Mahdi also shared his thoughts on barbers in America, noting a significant difference in customer-service interactions. He pointed out that many barbers tend to style hair while their clients are facing away from the mirror, a practice that left him feeling uneasy. In his own words:
“When it was done and he turned me around to look at myself in the mirror, I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ Half of my mustache was gone.”
After hearing Mahdi’s lament, Stevi couldn’t help but chuckle, attempting to suppress her laughter. When Mahdi insisted it wasn’t funny, she countered with, “It’s a little funny,”before using a sharpie designed for filling in beards to sketch out Mahdi’s mustache.
Mahdi speculated that the barber may have misinterpreted his Iranian heritage, resulting in a stereotypical “thin mustache”design. Although Stevi later admitted she wasn’t fond of his new look, she chose not to share this with Mahdi as she wished to spare his feelings.
While observing his drawn mustache in the mirror, Mahdi humorously remarked:
“Oh my God, I look like Batman. You see?”
Mahdi’s First Encounter with a Cat: “I need to wash my hands”
Another poignant experience for Mahdi since moving to the U.S. was his first encounter with a cat, as seen in an earlier episode of 90 Day Fiancé. During this moment, he openly expressed his apprehension while petting Stevi’s cat. He questioned the cleanliness of the animal, stating:
“I need to wash my hands.”
In Iran, Mahdi explained, cats typically reside outdoors, and his mother had informed him that touching a cat could result in illness. He recalled an incident during her pregnancy, when a cat frequently entered their home and ultimately made her sick, which contributed to his hesitation to interact with cats as a “clean”activity.
