This quest emphasizes Naoe’s formative training as a shinobi, guided by both her father, Nagato, and their neighbor, Matsu. Start by performing a Kuji-Kiri at any designated spot in the game to trigger the quest.
The journey begins with an emotional exchange where Nagato instructs Naoe in the art of Kuji-Kiri, helping her cope with the trauma from prior encounters with Oda soldiers. After completing the Kuji-Kiri sequence, you will need to seek out Matsu, the elderly woman residing near the Fujibayashi family.
Upon interacting with her, Matsu will send you on a mission to retrieve a precious scroll containing ancient techniques that have been passed down through her family lines. Follow the objective marker to reach Kasuga Shrine, but be cautious of the snowy terrain that may impede your progress.
At the shrine, you’ll discover that bandits have taken up residence. You can choose to bypass them stealthily or engage in a direct confrontation, keeping in mind that without the hidden blade, stealth kills are not an option.
