BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ Surpasses 800 Million YouTube Views

On March 20, 2025, BLACKPINK celebrated a significant milestone when their hit song “Lovesick Girls”surpassed an impressive 800 million views on YouTube. The announcement was made via their official X account, which expressed gratitude to their fans worldwide, known as BLINKs:

Released on October 2, 2020, by YG Entertainment, “Lovesick Girls”emerged as the title track of BLACKPINK’s debut studio album, The Album. The track is distinguished by its electro-pop sound, stellar vocal performances, and captivating choreography, contributing to its massive success.

Upon its release, the song achieved remarkable chart rankings, peaking at number two on the Billboard Global 200 and securing a similar position on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart. The energetic group showcased “Lovesick Girls”on prominent platforms, including Good Morning America and Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the U.S., as well as Music Station in Japan. Additional domestic promotions included performances on Show! Music Core and Inkigayo.

Upcoming BLACKPINK World Tour Announced

On February 19, 2025, BLACKPINK revealed the dates for their eagerly anticipated tour, titled ‘BLACKPINK 2025 World Tour’, set to commence on July 5, 2025, at Goyang Stadium in South Korea. Here’s a breakdown of the confirmed tour dates:

  1. July 5-6, 2025 – Goyang, Goyang Stadium, South Korea
  2. July 12, 2025 – Inglewood, SoFi Stadium, United States
  3. July 13, 2025 – Chicago, Soldier Field
  4. July 22-23, 2025 – Rogers Stadium, Toronto, Canada
  5. July 26-27, 2025 – Citi Field, New York City, United States
  6. August 2-3, 2025 – Stade de France, Saint-Denis, France
  7. August 6, 2025 – Ippodromo Snai La Maura, Milan, Italy
  8. August 9, 2025 – Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, Barcelona, Spain
  9. August 15-16, 2025 – Wembley Stadium, London, England

In addition to these dates, they are scheduled to perform at Tokyo Dome in Japan on January 16, 17, and 18, 2025. Notably, this tour marks a historic moment as BLACKPINK becomes the first K-pop girl group to grace the stage at Wembley Stadium.

Last year, in July 2024, the band premiered a concert film titled BLACKPINK World Tour (Born Pink), which commemorated their eighth anniversary. The film showcased live performances filmed at Seoul’s Gocheok Dome along with highlights from their various tour stops across the globe.

BLACKPINK consists of four dynamic members: Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa. They officially debuted in August 2016 with the single album Square One, featuring the hit tracks “Whistle”and “Boombayah.”Since then, they have consistently released chart-topping singles, including “Shut Down,””Typa Girl,”and “Pink Venom.”

Currently, each member is engaged in individual projects as they navigate a new chapter, having chosen not to renew their contracts with YG Entertainment.
