DJ Akademiks Calls Charlamagne Tha God a “GOAT Gaslighter” for Pulling a “LeBron Special” on Jess Hilarious During On-Air Drama Following IG Controversy

In a recent clash of opinions, media personality DJ Akademiks has referred to Charlamagne tha God as the “GOAT gaslighter”following a contentious on-air exchange with comedian and radio host Jess Hilarious. This incident was highlighted during a live stream on Akademiks’ Twitch channel on March 19, 2025.

The Controversy Surrounding Jess Hilarious and The Breakfast Club

During this live session, DJ Akademiks weighed in on the ongoing drama from an episode of The Breakfast Club featuring Jess Hilarious, Loren LoRoso, and other co-hosts. He criticized Charlamagne’s tactics, likening them to a “LeBron special”—a term he coined to describe seemingly spontaneous yet meticulously planned actions, similar to basketball star LeBron James’ strategic player trades.

DJ Akademiks didn’t hold back when addressing Charlamagne’s approach, emphasizing his belief in the radio host’s manipulative prowess. He remarked, “Charlamagne, you are one of the GOAT gaslighters I have ever seen… like Charlamagne should go into politics,”indicating that he sees Charlamagne’s skill set as fitting for the political arena.

“Charlamagne, you are one of the GOAT gaslighters I have ever seen. You see, yeah, Charlamagne, this is Charlamagne. Like Charlamagne should go into politics, my man, my man, Charlamagne is a motherf*cker; he is doing good,”DJ said.

Akademiks further explained that Charlamagne’s handling of the situation with Jess Hilarious displayed strategic finesse, comparing it to LeBron James’ infamous trade of Luka for Anthony Davis, suggesting that Charlamagne shifted focus cleverly from Hilarious to Loren LoRoso.

“I don’t wanna play, but what this show is doing is called the LeBron special, you trade AD (Anthony Davis), and act surprise like where you got them,”DJ continued, illustrating his point with a vivid basketball metaphor.

The discussions stemmed from a recent episode wherein Jess Hilarious addressed her maternity leave, during which Loren LoRoso stepped in to host her segment, “Jess With the Mess.”This led to disputes regarding on-air commentary, as Jess felt that Loren had overstepped during the episode.

“Who said that? Because the internet said that?”Charlamagne questioned, aiming to clarify comment misunderstandings.

Behind the Scenes: Jess Hilarious’s Claims

The tensions escalated on March 18, 2025, when Jess Hilarious took to her Instagram live to vent about her co-hosts, Charlamagne, DJ Envy, and Loren LoRoso. Although she didn’t name anyone directly, she expressed disappointment over the lack of support when facing public backlash regarding her comments about DJ Daniel, a cancer survivor.

On the subsequent podcast episode, Hilarious confronted Loren about her contributions during the time of her absence. She underscored the fact that Loren’s opportunity on the show came through her own endorsement.

“You are here because of an opportunity that I extended… But yeah, you are here! I ain’t never say you should not be here,”Hilarious stated during the live broadcast, defending her position while also acknowledging Loren’s talent.

Jess Hilarious had announced her pregnancy break in February 2024, officially starting her maternity leave in the summer of that year. Although she returned to The Breakfast Club in November 2024, the dynamics among the hosts seem to remain tense and complex.

As of the latest updates, Charlamagne tha God has yet to respond to the pointed critiques from DJ Akademiks, leaving fans and industry watchers eager for his take on the unfolding situation.
