Christine Quinn Reflects on Her Struggles in Marriage and Aftermath
Christine Quinn, a well-known figure from “Selling Sunset,”recently opened up about her tumultuous marriage to Christian Dumontet. In a candid interview with People published on March 18, 2025, Quinn detailed the challenges she faced before and following a domestic dispute in March 2024, which led to Dumontet’s arrest.
Almost one year after Dumontet initiated divorce proceedings in April 2024, Quinn revealed the extent of her hardships. She described how, upon leaving their Los Angeles residence, she found herself locked out of crucial financial accounts, leaving her feeling “completely resourceless.”She expressed this betrayal poignantly:
“People really don’t know this. I was hacked out of my entire life. I was stripped of my entire life overnight—I literally had nothing. And it was dehumanizing. I was completely resourceless.”
Life After Leaving: Challenges and Changes
Following her departure, Quinn faced significant instability, temporarily residing in a hotel and bouncing between friends’ sofas. Eventually, she and her three-year-old son, Christian Georges, moved to Texas in search of a fresh start. Quinn emphasized that despite an emergency protective order against her ex-husband, he continued to show up at their shared home.
“I really didn’t have a choice. I was granted an emergency protective order so my ex couldn’t come to the house. He violated that and would keep coming back,”she said.
Understanding the Preceding Turmoil
Quinn also shed light on earlier troubling episodes in her marriage that preceded the highly publicized incident of March 2024. She recounted how Dumontet would physically restrain her, sometimes lying underneath her car to thwart her attempts to leave for appointments. Quinn’s reflections illustrate the extent of her struggles:
“I would sit for an hour until I finally missed a meeting and gave up and would go back inside. Or he would shut the gates down so I couldn’t leave. It was bad.”
Ultimately, Quinn made the difficult decision to leave for the well-being of her son. She voiced her realization that while she could endure certain behaviors, her child’s welfare took precedence:
“There are certain things that I could tolerate, and it got to a point where it was affecting my son, and that wasn’t okay. I was like, ‘Okay, I can deal with this, I’m an adult.’ But bringing him into the chaos and everything that kind of ensued, I was like, ‘No, this is not okay,'”she added.
Aftermath and Legal Proceedings
In the wake of the March incident, Dumontet faced arrest on March 19, 2024, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, also violating the protective order the following day. His response came on March 26, 2024, when he flatly denied claims of domestic violence in a court filing. Soon after, he officially filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences while seeking sole custody of their child and opposing Quinn’s request for spousal support.
Despite these emotional upheavals, Christine Quinn has established a new life for herself and her son in Texas, where she feels grateful for the proximity to family and the stable environment it offers. Regarding her son’s adaptation to their new life, she noted,
“He’s absolutely loving it.”
Quinn is also reigniting her professional ambitions, channeling her energy into her real estate career and seeking new ventures beyond reality television.
