Kick, a rising competitor in the live streaming arena, has unveiled a revamped set of criteria for content creators aspiring to join its partnership program. Achieving partner status on Kick enables streamers to earn revenue through paid subscriptions, boosting their potential profitability.
One of Kick’s compelling selling points is its generous revenue sharing model. The platform offers a remarkable 95% of subscription revenue to its streamers, retaining only 5% as platform fees. This is a stark contrast to Twitch, which provides a maximum 70/30 split favoring streamers, highlighting Kick’s attractiveness to content creators looking to maximize earnings.
New Partner Program Requirements on Kick: Easing the Path to Monetization
The newly introduced policies significantly lower the barrier for entry into the partner program. For instance, creators on Kick no longer need to achieve affiliate status before enabling subscriptions; instead, they can activate this feature after just five hours of streaming. Previously, streamers had to accumulate 75 followers to unlock subscriptions.
Moreover, the criteria for verification have been simplified. Where creators once required 20 subscribers for verification, this number has now been halved to just 10. In terms of audience engagement, the minimum average viewer requirement has dropped from 75 to 50, making it easier for emerging talent to qualify. Interestingly, the stipulation to stream for a minimum of 12 days has been eliminated, streamlining the process even further.
Key among the changes is the new partnership requirement: streamers now need only 75 average viewers to qualify, a reduction from the previous 100. Additionally, the hours required for streaming have decreased from 50 to 30, and the follower benchmark has seen a dramatic cut from 1,500 to just 250. The number of unique chatters required has also been reduced, fostering a more welcoming environment for aspiring partners.
In related news, prominent Kick streamer Adin Ross has shared updates regarding a potential follow-up broadcast featuring hip-hop sensation Playboi Carti. Their prior collaboration encountered unexpected challenges, with Carti departing the stream prematurely, reportedly while retaining payment for the appearance.
