During a conversation with USA Today on the red carpet, Idol confidently proclaimed that his new record boasts no disappointing tracks.
After an 11-year hiatus, during which he released his last studio album, Kings & Queens of the Underground, in October 2014, Idol made a notable comeback with two EPs: The Roadside (2021) and The Cage (2022). Fans are eagerly anticipating his ninth studio album, set to drop in April 2025.
Album and Tour Announcement
At the iHeartRadio event, Idol shared exciting updates about his upcoming tour, which will commence shortly after the album’s release. He stated:
“Yes, I’ve actually got a single out right now, Still Dancing, and there’s an album coming out, Dream Into It. It’s coming out on April 25th and then we’ve got a tour on April 29th.”
Expressing his enthusiasm for Dream Into It, Idol described the album as exceptional, inviting fans to anticipate its impact:
“I think there’s no bad track on the album. If you’re into Billy Idol, it’s a killer record. That’s all I can tell you. I can’t even believe it.”
Insights from a Recent Interview

In an engaging interview with 93.1 Jack FM on February 26, 2025, the 69-year-old musician opened up about the themes of his upcoming album. Focusing on the track Still Dancing, he emphasized that this album is arguably his finest work to date. He fondly recalled receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, calling it an “amazing”milestone in his career:
“Still Dancing had the most obvious sound of a Billy Idol record that you recognize, but at the same time it’s really fresh and vital, and that’s what I feel about the album. I feel that there’s not a bad song on it, and I think it’s probably one of my best records. Just being able to say that at this time in my life and being inducted into the Hall of Fame all in one go, it’s pretty amazing.”
Idol also revealed that his collaboration with Avril Lavigne on the song 77 reflects his journey to America and the adventures that followed, providing an autobiographical narrative through music.
“There’s a song 77 that talks about coming to America and going solo and then all the shenanigans that happened in between. So, it really does tell the story of my life.”
A Duet with Joan Jett
Adding to the excitement, Idol announced that he will perform a duet with Joan Jett titled Wildside during his upcoming tour, titled IT’S A NICE DAY TO… TOUR AGAIN. This will mark a significant collaboration, as they have not undertaken a tour together before:
“It’s a duet with Joan. So, not only is she gonna be on the tour, but we’ll probably be doing one of the songs live, I expect. It seems like it’s a good move.”
Idol’s tour is set to begin on April 29, 2025, and is expected to feature the dynamic opening act of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, adding to the allure of this highly anticipated musical event.
