Reports emerged on March 16 from HotNewHipHop stating that a woman named Pearl Energy accused Gelo of purchasing the luxury vehicle and gifting it to Rashida Nicole. In response, Pearl released a detailed video outlining her version of events.

According to Pearl, she designed her unique G-Wagon in November 2023, anticipating its arrival in the United States shortly afterward. However, the vehicle actually arrived a month early, and she struggled to secure the funds necessary for the payment. Consequently, the dealership allegedly decided to put the car up for sale. LiAngelo Ball reportedly stepped in to buy it, leading to the gift for Rashida Nicole.

This saga gained traction when Pearl’s video was shared on Instagram by the user @theneighborhoodtalk, prompting a wave of mixed responses from netizens in the comment section. Many users expressed skepticism regarding Pearl’s claims and financial decisions.

One Instagram user, @veewade, suggested that Pearl should consider customizing another G-Wagon while ensuring she has the financial means to do so:

“Go customize another one, make sure you got the money this time.”

Other comments ranged from calls of disbelief about her decision to purchase such an extravagant automobile, with users like @corikastar and @byamberworthy chiming in to criticize her financial choices. The situation escalated further when MissNikkiiBaby, Gelo’s former partner, publicly criticized him for not providing financial support for their two children after reports surfaced of him giving the G-Wagon to Rashida. She remarked sarcastically that her jewelry costs as much as the vehicle:
